Schneider was my first choice for a trucking company, but I have to have my dog with me.
Had an uncle who worked for them a year. He hated it. Said he was promised to run the southeast (since he lived in GA), and instead was mostly in the pacific northwest (complete opposite area of the country).

Often boggles my mind why adults let an animal govern there most important life decisions. To each his own I guess....

So if you're telling me that I didn't know how to schedule my TAH with my STL as you seem to imply, then I suggest you are full of it.

Well if you cant get home its not SNI's fault. Its up to you the supposed ADULT to make the schedule you want, not them. I guess some people still need a little hand holding from cradle to grave?

BTW, I have my time off scheduled through next March and I've been home every other weekend as scheduled. So tell me how SNI screwed you?

Because some of us care more about our animals than we do about money.

So youre saying people who chose to put there careers and livelyhood in front of an animal/pet dont love them?Thats idiotic.People really dont get TRUCKING DRIVING IS A JOB,If you worked in a factory would you bring your dog and have him sit next to you on the assemly line?Or how about get a job in a warehouse and chain him up to your forklift? I see people talking about moronic things like bringing toddlers on trucks and keeping dogs couped up in confined spaces. It must really be horrible having to limit your earning potential/quality of life based upon the limitations of your pet.

I am not saying someone like that doesn't love their pets. And I do work in a factory. And no, I wouldn't bring my dog to that job. Because I know that I will be home every single night. With trucking, I wil be gone for extended periods of time, not home every night, and I am the only person who can take care of her. I have no friends or family here that are able or willing to take care of a large dog, whether it's because of their living situations, or their dislike of dogs.
And I barely make enough to get by. But it's enough to get by. Yes, I would love to be able to make more, but not at the expense of her.

Have to agree with Farder...

Drove for Schneider 2 and a half years, 1 and a half to many!
While driving for Scneider thought I am with a good company...not exactly!
Schneiders micro managing style is good for rookies, after getting some experience, move on.
Driving for Crete in my 5 month now,not only is my compensation and benefits superb to that of Schneider,my frustration and stress level is virtually gone!
Have to downgrade the big orange machine to a MEDIOCRE company.
