liquid tanker job

any info on these companies? Praxair, Air Products, or Linde. Pay scale or shifts available. Willing to relocate.

Sheepdancer 08-20-2007 02:21 PM

We (JB Hunt) recently have been hired by Praxair to recruit for them. Right now I have nothing open in Mass. The closest would be Memphis. But I fully expect more places to open up for hiring
Payscale. Depends on the area. But for a single driver running local you are looking at 50-70k per year. A few areas run teams regionally, you are looking at 80k -85k per year. Pay is hourly and mileage.
Praxair has some insanely strict qualifications and they wont sway from them one bit. They only want the absolute best drivers with the cleanest records.
25 years of age
Hazmat and tanker endorcements
non smokers only
absolutely no tickets or accidents in the last 3 years
no unemployment in the last 3 years
No misdemeaners or felonies ever
No DWIs ever ( I recently had to turn a driver down whose only offense ever in his life was a dwi in 1969)

If you qualify, shoot me a PM and I will keep your info in case it ever opens in your area

no unemployment in the last 3 years
hey sheepdancer...just because i work construction right now and am usually laid off in the winter, i am unable to hire on with Praxair?

Sheepdancer 08-20-2007 04:15 PM

No, they wouldnt take you.
Sorrry, I dont work for Praxair. I dont make their hiring policies. Weve just been hired by them to recruit. I guess they feel its such a good high paying job, they can afford to be really picky. Its tough, but I am finding drivers for them. I usually have to weed through about 150 that want the job to find one that qualifies.
I guess I should have been more clear with that....they want 3 complete years of driving OTR in the last 3 years and they really want some of that to be tanker.
Heck, the other day I got a driver that drove for them 5 years, quit a few months ago and wanted to come back. They wouldnt take him back. Supposedly they dont even do rehires.

Here is another example of how strict Praxair is. I had a driver who perfectly qualified, absolutely perfect driving record, everything checked out, way more than enough experience. We OK'd him and sent him to the praxair interview. Basically they didnt like the way he was dressed for the interview. I think he was wearing a bathing suit... Anyway, he didnt get the job.
I have to add that to the list of my qualifications...this should be a no brainer, but DRESS PROFESSIONALLY FOR THE INTERVIEW.

I was looking at praxair, but sheesh, I dont think I can get on with them.. I only have 2.5 yrs driving. So I guess im out too.. Dang it!

Hey pal. I'll have you know that the dances with the farm animals has always treated drivers that way.........

What do you expect from someone in a office who has never driven a truck?

Just do a search out his post.......
