i drove for heartland sat alot drove alot at nite unload at 7 sit all day couldnt get home

You'll get a 600 mile load if your lucky , average LOH for regional is 300 miles , OTR is a pathetic 500 miles per trip .

heartland shouls be considered the bottom of the barrel or just as bad as werner.russ gerdin the owner does not give a s**t about the drivers ,or how they are treated,and his son is just as bad.maybe if drivers would park his trucks and find someone to drive for it would make them and other companies change their ways or just fade out period.just alittle tidbit,if your home time falls on a wednsday they will hold more then half of your check,just in case they have to pay somebody to pick it up as an abandment.

1800 miles * .50 = 900

2500 miles * .36 = 900

True, but that 2500 miles is at the end of the week, and the 1800 miles is only about half way through the week. :P

First of all, it take 7 years to get to Heartland's .50 cpm top-rate. I think at a company like Crete after 7 years you would get .47 cpm on practical miles.

1800 X .50 = $900
2500 X .47 = $1175

Keep in mind also that Heartland pays on HHG, so to get paid $900 you would actually have to drive nearly 2000 miles. And from what I've read here, looks like they send their drivers OOR big-time for no money to fuel at terminals. Also, like JB Hunt their utilization sucks: empty out at a consignee, sit all day then drive 300 miles at night? You couldn't pay me .60 cpm to deal with that crap.

real truck drivers are compentant enough to drive at night with no troubles, but not pansy asses like cold frosty mug. real drivers do it in the dark.

That's a personal attack to , btw I'm sure coldfrostymug drives at night like most LTL drivers , do some research before you post .

One thing that is very obvious about coldfrostydud, is that if the topic has any relevance whatsoever to OTR drivers, he is the first to comment about how bad OTR sucks, and how he feels that it takes and takes from the drivers, and gives nothing in return, and in his mind the only way to go is local. Believe me, i like my local job just as much as the next guy, but i also respect and value the job that the OTR guys/girls do, i might not agree with everything involved in OTR trucking and i'm sure everyone has their grievances, but what separates you and i and everyone else from coldfrostDUD, is the fact that we all seem to have a respect for one another, no matter the job you do, i don't care if you pump out crappers, or haul sod like i used to do, as long as at the end of the day you're satisfied with the job you did, and show up the next day and do it just as good, then i believe that makes you a good truckdriver, underpaid, or not paid enough for what you do is besides the point, the fact that we're out there everyday running the roads is what really matters, so COLDFROSTY, give it a rest, i've said it before, and i'll say it again, your posts get old and monotonous, and i'm almost certain we've all lost interest in what you have to say.
