NE REGIONAL (Home every weekend)

Live in Southern NH

Arnold Transportation

Picked them based on the regional runs, weekend hometime. Equipment has never really been a huge issue for me. But would not go out of my way to drive a hunk of junk. My current truck is an 05' I also never heard anything bad about them. So the no news is good news kinda played into that.

I'm very satisfied. You'll always have days where you'd like to push you DM off a cliff. But you've got to take the good with the bad. They never push me, even ask if I have the hours or can move a load safely within hours, and as of yet have never "diciplined" me for saying no.

I've loaded and unloaded a few times, with a couple of those being assist. But my assist have consisted of 10 minutes worth of work, and those pay $30. Not bad for 10 mins of work. The load/unload has always been with a electric pallet jack. Never taken me longer than 20-30 mins. Those paid me $65.

They pay for lumper on nearly everything that needs to be lumped. I only do it for the money. If it will take me 30 mins or so.. Why not make some extra money. If it's a full load, with massive pallet break downs, then hell no. I'll let the co pay for a lumper while I get my shut eye.

I work for UPS. $27 an hour, $71,000 last year, full benefits at no cost to me, OT after 8 hours in a day, not too much stress, 5 weeks of vacation, and home every night. Won't leave because I'll never find anything this good. Golden handcuffs as we like to say. :D

and I work for UPS too. (brown67 and I seem to follow each other around-hmmmm...must be those "golden handcuffs"...). I drive a "feeder" route servicing the hubs. I am on whats known as a "combo bid" by choice. I am at over $27 per hour with OT after 8 and Double time after 12 as Brown67 has stated. Full health and welfare and a decent pension. I am finishing up my 30th year at Brown and will retire at the end of July 2007. I have run the sleeper teams on my last bid. Pay is around .58cpm split with hourly for both drivers anytime truck stops (drops-hooks-hubs-breakdown-road closures any wait time/pre/post trips etc). It's a good gig. (and I got the "watch"...LOL! -Brown67 will figure it out....)

As you may have assumed Yellow , Great pay , bennies , hometime , equipment (well, not equipment) . If you want to go LTL Yellow is definately one of the best especially after you get a few years in .

Roadway, at bottom scale right now. Had to survive a layoff but busy now. I will probably get layed of this winter to but should be good after that.

Question for the UPS guys, what division are you in? I know the UPS drivers (feeder's) around Ohio sure don't make that much. There top scale is .54cpm and I think $23.00, which is just a little bit more than Roadway and Yellows top scale.
