But to hear him go off...you would think he was being shafted ...and if he did actually leave J.B. you know he tells a story of him being shafted by dispatch

well he will have it worse at wener because i can rember bobtailing 30 or 40 miles to get an empty and then it not being there and having to drive another 30 miles to find another this one not uncommon in some areas so good luck to him

Yeah no kidding ...But the best ones are when you spend 2-3 hours going around town chasing ghost empties ,and then get told to go bob tail as it''s pre-load ,However when you arrive at the shipper there aren't any blue trailers there ,and the shipping/receiving staff says we ...NEVER...pre-load Werners . Spent 3 Hours one day looking for an Mt to go pick up a load at Owl Cable in Rome N.Y. when I couldn't find one I was told just bobtail it's a pre-load ...Got there only to be told they do not pre-load Werner's ,So I sat and waited for 1.5 hrs to be given another pick up location for an mt By the time I got the MT and got to owl cable I had wasted 6 hours then it took 4 hours for them to set up the cribbing in the trailer for the odd sized spools ....But it gets better what my trip info did not mention was that the driver has to pull up all the cribbing for drakar cable ...So because it took almost as much wood as it does to build a house to secure these off size spools I had a very sweaty 2 hours of humping lumber ...wet smelly moldy lumber with no help from the receiver ...and Werner wouldn't pay me for an off-load just an assist ( whoo hoo 20.00 dollars ....CHEAP BASTIDS ...this was my last trip out as a Werner driver

Who failed ? If I quit JB does that mean I failed ? Blaaa I have not been late to one appointment yet Love the customers, Love the work (I unload my own trailer) And am thinking seriously of leaving JB. NOT because I failed, But because JB failed  BTW I am doing the DCS Penny's account-reginal. Left once but they called me back following week and sed they would stick to thier promise. Which has yet to become true

I dont know your story nor did I recruit you so how can I comment? I can tell you that if you are running the JCP out of WI, I have put quite a few drivers on it that love it and they are doing well. Thats one of my favorite jobs to hire for because once I put drivers on it, they tend to send me a lot of referrals. Your best bet is to find out whats going wrong and use the chain of command to figure it out and try to fix it. JB has a very good open door policy, use it all the way up to the top if you need to.

Lived in Colonie when I was younger. Went to Sand Creek. Then I went to Burnt Hills-Ballston Lake.

Well, that never seemed to stop you before. Making comments on how people fail before you even know what has happened is the thing you do best here.

But I'll go like this. To me, JB Hunt is like McDonald's. Good to start working to get something on your resume. And If you want to become manager, you can with time. However, like many people elsewhere, my time is valuable. So I went on to better things.

Funny thing though. I always thought you could make more......at McDonald's.

I don't like JB because of what happened while I was employed, but even I will say that this guy is lazy. Funny thing, he got more miles than me, and still not happy.

That's all I got to say.

If you really want to see what JB Hunt is all about, check out this table that CAD has:

http://www.classadrivers.com/rating....ings&ListAll=1

And notice the 2.14 in the respect for drivers column. That tells the tale why more people follow the "Sheepster" from post to post, bashing away. After all, they got the number from somewhere. :D :D

Company Ratings

Those company ratings are not something I would suggest using to make up my mind about any company. The number of votes per company would have to be much higher and I would have to see as close to an equal number of votes per company as well.
Most of the companies rated the best have only 1 vote, the same goes for the companies with the worst ratings.
The most votes I came across was for Werner(20), still hardly enough for me to make a decision on any company.
I know from past experience that unhappy people from any profession are more apt to complain about their company than the happy people are to praise their company.

This is the only place I say anything good about JB Hunt. I say it often and loudly. Too many posts by that guy above who quit when he had to spot a trailer yelling about how bad JB Hunt is....

I agree the numbers are low. More drivers should take the time and vote, good or bad, on the companies they worked for. However, I will not discount the votes of those who take the time to express how they did with any company.

Which guy are you referring to? I believe the one who quit when he had to spot a trailer is an example from BIG JEEP on 44's post.

Now, if your referring to me, I made my reasons clear the first, second, and so on time that I posted.

And if you didn't take the time to read the entire post, welll........

Company ratings

I would, for the reasons I stated in my previous post.
Here's a good example why:
I work at a small rental store, only 3 drivers. Two of them are very unhappy, I'm not one of them.
This is what we have, $20.58/hr, time and a half after 8 hrs., family benefits $130 a month, can accrue up to 3 weeks off per yr., 4 weeks after 5 yrs.
........yet they will still complain about every little thing that happens, mostly normal day to day business issues.

You know, that's a great job. I can't understand why they would complain, either.

I guess some people arn't happy unless they complain about something.

If I was referring to you, I would quote you. Just like I've done here.

Since you posted the same reason the guy quit that I did, I can only assume we are talking about the same person.

Ok. Sorry for the misunderstanding on my part.

No worries. I am fully aware of your experiences at JB Hunt. I read almost every thread here, although I don't always comment. :P
