guys,
Could I get some opinions on TMC dedicated out of the pipe foundry in Lynchburg, VA please. Or any of you guys that run a dedicated account. You know, how is the pay, miles Vs. percent, home time, how are you treated by the company as a person, any thing else that you would like to comment on. Thanks you for the assistance.

Ok, i don't have time to read all this thread, but it has to be some type of joke! There is no way anything good could come out of TMC other then a shiny Truck!

Another drive by poster. Nothing substantive to say, just wants to dump on TMC. Be a man and post your beefs. let's see if it is you or TMC.

Talked to a recruiter about 2 days ago. I will be calling back in the beginning of July once I get moved to see about orientation. They seemed pretty straight forward on the phone and the majority of the drivers I talk to seem happy with them.

I was in the Marine Corps for 12 years, got forced out due to an injury and started driving a truck earlier this year. I graduated from Central Tech in Oklahoma which is a badass driving school and went to work.

The company I am pulling vans for right now is a great company with good pay but I am running teams for them because I just couldn't get the freight to make a living solo. I love the job, and I have a good team mate but I just prefer to be alone, force of habit. Solo I was only making 1500 miles a week, sometimes less.

I know I would have to go out with a trainer for a while and I have no problem with that because I only have about 45-50k of driving experience but I am curious, what are the average paychecks for new drivers? I can run as hard as the next guy for the legal time with no issues what so ever so I can pull all the freight they can give me, the question is simply is the freight there?

I really have a strong interest in this company because of what you guys are talking about through here, the cleanliness of the trucks (I HATE driving a dirty truck to the point I will wash my company truck out of my own pocket), and the overall atmosphere of the company (or at least the best I can get as a feel for the atmosphere through the web).

It all boils down to pay though honestly, can 800 a week be brought home doing long haul? I don't expect to make what I make teaming right now which is very nice, but I will take a pay cut (reasonable at least) to be alone again and just driving. Thanks for any tips guys.

I am no longer Long Haul, my first five plus months with TMC were Long Haul, though. As a former Marine, Semper Fi, brother!, I can tell you that you will do fine. I was easily making $800.00 per week, actually, $800.00 was what I took home on my off weeks. I was easily making over $1,000.00 every week. My average gross was over $1,200.00 up to $1,800.00. This was as a new driver. As I gained experience I was increasing my revenue. I made the switch in May so I missed out on the lucrative months. Right now on Line Haul I am taking home, on average, over $800.00 per week and we are in a "recession."

A week is 7 days.
A month is 30/31 days.

Hey Terry, I hope you mean $800 per week. Twice in your post you mentioned $800 per month. :lol:

I am in Des Moines at the Baymont. Probably for the weekend since I don't have a load at the moment. My truck should be done about 9am Saturday if they are on schedule. :roll: Somehow coming out here in a straight line didn't happen.

On a side note: My travels this week took me through Granite City IL and I was shocked at how far behind the farming is down there. Last year at this time there was corn already growing, and this year most of the fields are still too wet to work.

So anybody in Des Moines this weekend stop in and say hi. Being a holiday weekend I probably won't get a load out until Tuesday.

well... I passed for my CDL yesterday, I leave on sunday for Des Moines. Training starts on tuesday. I am looking forward to it. Hopefully I will be able to get home at some point in my training. & weeks away from family wont be fun.

They try to assign you a trainer from your home area or within 50 miles or so! If that is the case, and your trainer is Line Haul, you will get home usually every week. If the trainer is long haul, typically every 2 weeks.

Ever now and again, they just do not have a trainer in your home turf, and you will have to spend some nights in a motel while they are on time off!
