If you click on the link in my original post, you will see the sliding pay scale. I have worked there for two and a half years; I'm pretty clear on how I get paid, thanks.

Also, you seemed to understand in this post that USX has a sliding scale.

Except that the scale is from 0-300 miles 301-600 miles (0-600 miles are paid the same for the first year) 601-900 miles and 900+ miles; it doesn't slide just for miles over 900.

I've been told I'll start at $0.43 per mile as a company driver with 15+ yrs of no accident experience...Maybe the tune will change once I go down to Colton for orientation etc?

Common drivers, get on the $$Tree account. We never sit! We are constantly running loads, yes we have to unload them, but if you want money, that's where it is. My average check is over $1300 gross per week. I guess some drivers would rather hang out playing Pac Man..... instead of working and making $$$$$$

Lets say a requiter tells a new hire they can come on, but it won't be for a month. Thats when the next seats will be open to get you with a trainer. Is that a bunch of bull? How is USX about that? I know your not gererally hired till you finish orientation, and training.

But why would you want to risk, developing a bad back, when you could make 1300 gross, just for jumping out and unlocking the doors and back in.

Sorry folks....but after wading through this thread.... I have come to one very solid and cogent conclusion..... if you want to drive for USX, you need to wear a t-shirt that has this on the front: :withstupid:

Sorry if it hurts your feelings....but thats reality. Sliding payscale that "stiffs" the driver? Thats "immoral"....and I've explained that before. Yes the $$tree drivers make a little more....but even still they are underpaid. The physical risks they take, not to mention the driving risks..... way underpaid. Lets not even open that can of worms about recruiters who "lie" to people....

But Max and his family are making out fine.

Oh, and their "indentured servitude" plan is just really a "whoopee deal" as well.

i just finished orientation in lexington nc. I am from long island and they asked me to quit my job before they could hire me which i did and than they told me it could take up to 2 weeks to get a trainer is this normal

that should have brought up a red flag...Good luck your gonna need it.

Man O man I checked out US express web page,I couldn't believe they bragged about paying 30 bucs a day after 24 hours for a layover. Good Stuff were do I sign up.
