I have only have a class B. I want to get my class A. I have offers from Swift, Prime, Stevens, and C.R. England. I don't have alot of cash so school is out. I know the first year I'm not going to make much. But out of those choices which is the lesser of two evils?

Just my HO but of those you listed.... Swift. Keep in mind there are others out there for you to choose from that ( IMHO ) would be even better.

I agree with Ridge....The only one on your list worth a 2nd look is Swift. stay far away from the others.
Have you tried Schnieder?

I tried with Schnieder. But I can't get a hold of anybody there. I was on hold waiting to talk with someone for over a hour.

If you want to pull a reefer instead of a dry van then you could talk to Central Refrigerated. Pretty much the same as Swift.

Just a suggestion,...... have you checked into financing your schooling and paying for it yourself. You wouldn't need any LARGE down payment, and the advantages to not owing your soul to some trucking company cannnot be stressed enough.
I paid for my own schooling and have ALWAYS felt that decision was the one biggest advantage to my advancement in this field.
Anyway, just a thought.

Sorry but I disagree. Prime's not bad at all for training. Just after you're done, don't lease a truck from them if you want to make money. Just stay company driver!

Don't "lease" a truck from anyone. And in reality....of your choices....none is the lesser of evils.

Take it from me.....I drove for Swift for 10 months. Avoid Swift at all costs, there are better companies to start off with. Try Roehl, US Xpress, or even Schneider. If you have a Class A CDL, you can do better than Swift.
