Mac or PC?

Mac or PC?

I go for PC cause MAC's are too pricey for what you get. Steve Jobs needs to get his arrogant nose out of the air and make MAC's more affordable. The ONLY genre where MAC's have an advantage is graphics arts. I just don't think that MAC's need to be costing as much as they do. I can build a PC with MAC-like performance for about half the cost, plus I have a wider selection of software titles available to me. I do also feel that it would profit Apple greatly to create and sell a MAC-OS for the PC.

I agree mac is way to pricey for what you dont get.

PC is the better way to go and you have more software to use with them :P

As a PC user since the 80s who recently made the switch, I disagree. First, the prices are comparable:

As for software, I've found no shortage or lack of choice -- indeed, most of the software I have for my mac was free, and the (free and included) programmer's development environment is a joy to use (even nicer than Borland.)

Most of my hardware (Printer, camera, calculator, etc.) doesn't even need a driver software install, you just plug it in and it works. Everything about this machine just works, I've never been this happy with a computer.

Last: no spyware, no adware, a built in privacy mode for all my web browsing, no viruses, no Trojans, no root kits, a bullet proof firewall (included), the best IM program made, automatic hard drive encryption (included) incredible ergonomics for both soft and hardware, and not a single crash or hangup since I bought it last summer. Its compact, and its even attractive -- and the OS is a work of art. Most PCs and Microsoft products look (and perform) like cheap schlock in comparison.

Why pay the same price for a product that isn't even in the same league? I could never go back to PCs or MicroSloth Winblows.

If I recall the news a couple of weeks ago, the Mac got hit with its first virus. The somber tone of the story was that it won't be the last. Regardless, I'll stick with the PC, myself.

Yes -- a harmless proof of concept virus released by researchers to test whether or not a virus was possible in OSX, with all results turned over to Apple so they could address the problem. Hardly comparable to the world of Windows, where the problem is so bad a virtual industry has grown to combat the problem.

Ive never had a virus or had a blue screen of death or spywear issues on my Apple and i have used it for 6 years now.
As to customer support. look at best buy and their geek squad. they are mainly trained on PC'S. good indication to the attention they need.
I report an issue, should it arise, and within 24 hrs its resolved.
OS is unixed based and more secure than operating system on the market.
You talk about Steve Jobs being arrogant. What the hell would you call Bill Gates besides a thief.
OSX is separate from web browser and hackers and worms are unable to
access your hard drive.
I will agree they are a little more expensive, but I don't want to buy a new computer every 6-12 months or whenever windows releases a new operating system.

Debating Apple or pc's is like debating religion or politics.
