inter-star and tire repairs
Anyone out there getting ripped off by companies assigned by inter-star to repair trailer tires? Our problem is that the person comes out to repair a blown tire but then their boss or authorized person calls it into inter-star as driver neglect or driver drove on tire resulting in the driver being billed. Any thoughts or suggestions would be appreciated.

I'm not familiar with them. But, it sure sounds to me like I'd be looking for someone to replace them almost immediately.
You might try taking pics before they get there, and while they're doing the repair. Or, use a cam-corder. Something to show. But, did it simply go flat, or did it throw the tread? Throwing the tread can mean it was running low on air, but not always. |
One big problem that contributes to this, are the loading docks. People sweep out their trailer, or the dock workers sweep the deck onto the lot, where you back in. A lot of nails from those pallets, end up on the pavement, and if you are like me...I run my tandems to the tail, for loading/off loading. I don't always spot the nails...especially at night, or in a rain storm.
