Germany did not half destroy Greece eh?
And I am not talking about the German banks inflating the Greek economy prior to joining the Eurozone :-)

That was an embarrassment for the Greeks. 4-2, should have been 6-2 if not worse. Bloody nice strike by Rues to make it 4-1. Looked like Germany pretty much was mailing it in after they went up 3-1. Once it went 4-1 they definitely pulled back, that's embarrassing, no actually insulting, when a team lays down on you like Germany did after going up 4-1.

Methinks the Germans are the odds on favorite to win Euro 2012 and the 2014 WC. My gosh the potential for them to be deadly if they put it together for 90 minutes. Just think, they didn't play a few of their normal cap guys today and still destroyed the Greeks. They owned possession by a wide margin and at several points it looked like target practice at the Greek net.

You could be right mate, but if England get past Italy and build momentum then Germany have a game on their hands. The English are strong enough to batter the Germans physically; I know it makes awful viewing but you have to use the tools God gave you :-)

England playing very well, good attacking football and look much better team than Italy at moment

Ha ha ha ha...When the **** will England learn how to take penalties?
It's like learning how to defend from arrows at Senlac Hill; the English Achilles Heel

Mr. Ford95 06-24-2012 11:08 PM

Egh, I only got to see from about the 68th minute to 83rd. During that time it looked like the Italia were romping around the pitch doing as they pleased. The English defense looked real good in the face of constant pressure. Just before I went away at the 83rd, ESPN put up a shot chart, Italy had 23 with 14 on target to England's 6 with 2 on target.

I like the physical football, it's one reason why I follow the EPL instead of La Liga or Bundglisga. I've recently started trying to pick up the game of Rugby since BBCAmerica shows it some Saturday's here.

I do not pay much attention to those opta stats mate, you only need one on target to win a game if you defend well enough.
Chelsea are European club champions and play defensively all the time in European competition
Greece won the Euro's in 2004 playing dreadfully negative football

Mr. Ford95 06-25-2012 09:11 PM

At the same time in the American way, put enough shots in the air and eventually something will find it's way into the net.:p 2 different styles and yet both can work very well.

Absolutely mate, winning is everything. Taking part is the term for losers
Reckon this Spain v Portugal game may go to penalties too, your thoughts?

Mr. Ford95 06-27-2012 08:03 PM

It's looking that way. Just got home and it seems neither side is really conceding much ground. Looks like a game of who can win the center line first. Not sure who all Portugal has but I would take Spain if it goes to penalties.
