Yoop, Monday Night Football ain't what it used to be!

:D While watching my beloved Pack battle the Eagles the other night, Monday Night Football just doesn't seem like the old days with Al Michaels and John Madden calling the plays. I guess the ESPN guys do all right but Michaels and Madden just gave it something special. Whadya think? 8)

yoopr 10-03-2006 04:54 PM

I agree

RostyC 10-08-2007 12:39 PM

I agree we need a new line up, Kornheiser gets on my nerves.

Ditto

RaiderNation 10-08-2007 02:24 PM

hey when did rex grossman start playing for the cowboys?

yoopr 10-08-2007 02:47 PM

LMAO
One of the funniest things I saw at the game last night was all the Tuba Players for the U of Wi. band had signs(Where the sound comes out) and it said "Rex Grossman holding Clipboard-Priceless" :P

Part Time Dweller 10-08-2007 02:57 PM

So watch Sunday night football instead.

i feel bad for the bills defense.. they deserved a win....

and romo...

Twilight Flyer 10-08-2007 04:55 PM

Yeah, Romo. The guy throws 5 picks and fumbles once, and still puts together final drive in under 2 minutes to tie it. When that doesn't work and they somehow manage to get the onside kick, he drives them again to set up the FG. All I can say is...

...I'll take him over any other QB in football. That kid has guts.

RaiderNation 10-08-2007 05:03 PM

over any other QB in football? ain't that stretchin it a bit? forgetting about brady and manning? PROVEN quarterbacks. Romo isn't a proven quarterback yet.

i'm hoping they can get it together enough to take out the pats next week.... because if they play next week like they did tonight they don't have a prayer.

Typical comment from a moron. GFY

Michaels and Madden call the plays on NBC Sunday Night Football, so I was merely pointing out if the above posters missed them, they could still get their fix.

Twilight Flyer 10-09-2007 12:37 AM

over any other QB in football?
Yep.

ain't that stretchin it a bit?
Nope.

forgetting about brady and manning?
Nope.

PROVEN quarterbacks.
Yep.

Romo isn't a proven quarterback yet.
But neither were Brady and Manning in their first year, either. What I like about Romo is that he has guts and he doesn't quit. He reminds me of Brett Favre. Farve never quits...he always gives his all. Romo is the same way. He had the worst game of his career (which only spans 15 regular season games, by the way) last night and fought to the very end. Give him credit, he grew up a lot last night.

i'm hoping they can get it together enough to take out the pats next week....
This game against Buffalo had me stewed all week. It had trap game written all over it and despite Phillips saying they were all aware of it, I wasn't convinced. But I think the fact that they are coming out of this game with an improbable win is the best thing for them going into the game against the Patriots next week. They are going to be up for the game, no doubt, and the Cowboys D is among the best in the business now. The D gave up nothing but a FG to the Bills last night, nothing at all to the Rams and what, 1 score to the Bears?

because if they play next week like they did tonight they don't have a prayer.
I absolutely agree. Their D can keep them in it, but Romo will have to close it out.

yoopr 10-09-2007 04:47 AM

The D gave up nothing but a FG to the Bills last night,

Big whoop-Bills have done what this year?

Twilight Flyer 10-09-2007 04:53 AM

They gave up nothing to the Rams and 1 score to the Bears, the team that beat the Pack this week. :D Phillips' trademark has always been his defense and he has it all clicking with Dallas now. You're just sweating those Red Lobster gift certificates, aren't you. :)

yoopr 10-09-2007 05:13 AM

Duh Bears didn't beat us-we beat ourselves in the 2nd half
Should have buried them in the 1st half
End of bye week we'll still be on top of the NFC North

RostyC 10-09-2007 06:47 AM

Those were two good back to back prime time games, as fans we got lucky this week. (cept having to listen to Kornheiser)

Romo is fun to watch, kids got heart that's for sure. I'm a little jealous, wish he was in Baltimore. I was surprised this morning when I saw the final score. I fell asleep late in the third I think.

Good luck against the Pats TF, we play them in December, I hope we get straightened out by then.

Twilight Flyer 10-09-2007 06:52 AM

Cowboys/Bills game put me into coniptions! My wife kept telling me to hold it down or I was going to wake the kids and she would kick my butt. :)

yoopr 10-09-2007 07:30 AM

Only thing I don't like when going to the games are that the commercial breaks are longer than the ones on TV

Rockjockey 10-09-2007 12:44 PM

Whats FIB?
F####ing Illinois B@st@rd.

Pretty sad that yoopr can attack PTD with this, yet when PTD responds, he is banned from the board. I guess the rules are different for the moderators.

No different than all the attacks that yoopr has made on others. Talk about abusing your position.

DD60 10-09-2007 02:31 PM

For once I agree with Tony no matter how hazardous it may be to my health. The FIB comment was out of line. Whatever happened to "practice what you preach"?

"Urban Dictionary"??

We all know you think you're smart but........
What does your little "Dictionary" say about Suamico?

Really?

Urban Dictionary is an online dictionary whose definitions are written by users. With an Alexa ranking as one of the 2000 highest web traffic sites, Urban Dictionary is touted as the "Internet's unofficial slang authority" for definitions.

Furthermore, FIB contained 16 definitions. All of them were some form of F&%cking Illinois Bastard

We all know you think you're smart but........
So you've attacked one member today, now you're moving on to another?

What does your little "Dictionary" say about Suamico?
Nothing. What's your point? What does Suamico have to do with calling a member here a bastard?

Never, ever, EVER, in the history of football, have they been called the "Illinois Bears"....

Its the "Chicago Bears"..... And any true football fan knows that.

Whats the excuse now?

Not only that, but it makes no sense. Freakin Illinois Bears? :? That would mean that yoopr was implying that Part Time Dweller was a Bear? I wasn't aware he was even IN the NFL.

That would be like me calling yoopr a Michigan Lion. It makes no sense whatsoever.

I wonder what the next excuse will be.....

Maybe he thinks that PTD is an Illinois State Trooper, and thats what he meant???

Nah, that would be too convenient....

Never had a previous log in name, and will never have another. Any trucking board I go to, this is my screen name.

You didnt forget to "add" anything, you just got caught with your junk out in the wind...

Not whining, just merely speaking out.

yoopr 10-09-2007 04:59 PM

How nice
New guy speaking out
Keep on Slumming

One positive to come from the negative..........the urban dictionary link. That's hilarious, or d shiznit

Twilight Flyer 10-10-2007 12:37 AM

OK, this is out of hand. :?

Everybody needs to tone it down and not add fuel to the fire, while I sort this out. Thanks.

CAD 10-10-2007 04:06 AM

I am unlocking this thread. Guys and Gals, Yoop and PTD exchanged a few comments at each other in jest, and it wasn't till board members tried to stick stir crap over something that everyone else just overlooked that tempers started to flare.

Have none of you called a friend or someone you cut up with a name or a comment that might not be the nicest thing to say but it is totally in fun?

We did it all the time in the army. One of our favorites was something I don't think I can post here.

Rev, Rockjockey and Rooster, just let it go. Hell it didn't even concern the three of you.

I didn't even know about the thread until PTD pm'ed me on another site asking me to contact Twilight Flyer because he had been banned.

First questioning of the "FIB" comment was at 1:54pm by Snowman7. Next response was 5 hours later by Rockjockey, and PTD was already banned by that time. Then the floodgates opened, and IMO, rightfully so.

RostyC 10-10-2007 04:36 AM

Not to mention it's football, name calling is a given, and expected. :D No name calling in baseball though they cry. Hockey fans are allowed to exchange blows (ie punches)
