A piece of advice for everyone thinking of coming up here. Make sure you have a backup to any company who tells you " yea i will hire you" because I came up here thinking I had a job and when I got here and called the guy but he never answered. I have been up here sence July 5th and no luck finding a job. I have 7 years driving exp with tanker and doubles endorsement. I am now down to the last of my money and in a world of hurt. SO MAKE SURE YOU KEEP YOUR BUTT COVERED WHEN YOU COME UP. Plus dont even think about touching a hotel here because they are 150 a night and most only have 1 or 2 nights available here and there nun with long term rooms open.
Do not come up here without having your hazmat! I suspect Stephen came up here without his hazmat endorsement or he would be working somewhere. Jobs are plentiful up here, but finding the perfect one is not easy.
I do not have my hazmat because the guy called me and told me to come right up cause he needed me right away. He told me he did not need me to have hazmat. I was going to get it but was afraid if I did not take the job and come up it would be a while before I would find another. I regret not getting my hazmat. All I know is that I am out of money and in a real world of hurt. Im in dickinson trying to run down good leads but have not had any call backs. I do have tanker and doubles though
if any of you know of a comapny that will hire please email me at [email protected] . I have 7 years driving and about a year of tanker. I also have some experience off but not much because TN does not call for much off road driving.
I thank you for the leads. I just now found the library and found out the have free wifi. I think I may have a job through a staffing agency who is doing temp to hire with a company hauling production water. The agency is UCP and they are still in need of around 20 more drivers. The company they are hiring for was a small on but shot up and got good contracts with major oil to haul to production water they also do some bellydump and fresh water but mostly the water. I would recomend anyone who is in the dickinson area to check them out. They are at 141 3rd st west next to the public library. They share a office with 6 other businesses and there sign is not very big but they are open from 7am to 5pm Mon thru Fri. The company they are hiring for need drivers bad and dont care what type of tanker you drove.
The company that got me stuck was RAM WATER SERVICES they are roughly 2 hours north west of minot. I found out from another driver that some of these small companies are asking for 2 or 3 drivers but say 8 or 10 good people respond. They tell them to come up and they will have a job and the first ones there will get a job and the rest are stuck. So make sure you go with a medium to large size company so you dont get screwed.
