They need to charge these people with attempted murder and throw the key away. I am sure they think it is funny. Let's see how funny they think it is when they spend the rest of their lives in prison. Several years ago a man and his wife were traveling on I-75 just south of Knoxville, TN and some people threw what was thought to be cinder blocks off a bridge over the interstate. I believe it was actually markers from a grave yard. I think they eventually found them. I think the man was killed and wife seriously injured. It could have been the other way around. I think the perpetrators were college students. They violated a cemetery to assault a couple who were doing nothing but driving down the highway minding their own business.
I remember hearing a story(not truck stop either, but in a truck paper) of a guy who had just leased a truck 2 weeks prior.
He was travelling in louisiana I believe. One of the southern states anyways.
A couple of kids threw a huge boulder, smashed through the windshild, and hit him in the face. He was totally blinded.
Got it over to the shoulder, called 911, etc..
Turns out the guy cannot drive truck any more, and has severe vision problems.
Apparently in that state, due to the age of the kids(14-15 I believe) if they do not fess up to what they did, they cannot be held or charged. They got off totally free.

When I grew up we may have done some mischievous things, but never anything that would cause harm to anyone. I don't understand these kids who think nothing of hurting people. These kids need to be severely punished for their actions. I have no doubt they understand the consequences of their actions on others. We need to start making examples of a few of them and it will stop.
