They got rid of it (or modified it, I guess) because alot of guys were abusing the split. That took some money out of alot of guy's pockets and made it harder on the drivers running legal and taking shorter breaks. But leave it to truckers to ruin a good thing....along with parking, good wages, public perception, etc.
It was "got rid of" for one simple reason---so DOT officers could very simply look at a graph and issue $$$ tickets without having to actually count up 1 & 2&3.5+ there's 6hrs of a 10hr break & over here is the other 4hrs/ that takes time.
With adding 2 times as many drivers(Marks) on the roadway...it's important to be able to process them through the scale(revenue office) at a faster pace...simplify the math for everyone who's OUT to pick your pocket. OH, and making driver's RUSH to make all they can before the clock strikes 14- Somehow is suppose to be more "healthy" for drivers.....They did it for us..they are concerned about OUR HEALTH....Yeah Right!
