"Press 1 for english, press 2 for Mexico"
My brother drives for a local O/O and he has the biggest problem with dock workers in Calif. that don't speak english. His last drop in Roseville Ca. for a major grocery/retail chain had hispanic dock workers that tried to charge him $225 to offload 11 pallets that were just roll-offs. He told them he was ready to pull out 5ft from the dock and just dump them right there. Then a lead dock worker, who says he was a union worker says the charge stays. My brother says the hispanic workers were not union and most likely undocumented immigrants, since none of them could speak very much english. My brother's boss said to unload the pallets himself, stay there until someone signs whatever paperwork, and let the freight broker work out the charges.
The shipper is a big time food company here in Oregon and is not going to like it what this grocery/retail chain is allowing to happen here. Sounds to me like there illegal actions happening at this dock/warehouse.
