Trucks should be able to do the maximum speed allowed across the country. As far as I can tell we already have speed limiters all over the country. It is called a speed limit. One thing along these lines. I have been driving around 60-62 mph for a while. I noticed when I speed up while driving in mountains that it is much easier on my truck and I can stay in a higher gear. When trucks are in higher gears they require less fuel to move than at a higher rpm running in a lower gear.

Is a speed limiter the same thing as a governor?
If that's the case, we already have them. 😛 |
One and the same Rabbit! Thing is, not all trucks have them, that's the problem this group has.

What do you guys think? http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...laugh9bt-1.gif It seems to me.... That trucking would do well to be more organized again. Too bad that will never happen now. President Ronald Reagan's trucking deregulation and the Fair Labor Standards act ensurethat for the future most of us will see. I recently watched a documentary about Jimmy Hoffa and was surprised to see an early photo of him picketing in front of Kroger. I never knew that. The general state of union membership in the US does not bode well any type of return to prominence in the near future. (IMHO) Although I strongly feel that sort of representation is exactly what the industry needs again to help stomp out the rampant abuse of drivers and finally SOLVE the "driver shortage." Now I am LMAO!!!! Too bad we drivers can't agree on anything or effectively band together except for the occasional truckstop rhetoric. Ironic: "Those that need it the most, deserve it the least." |
