Question about J.B. Hunt and DAC

I recently found out that J.B. Hunt put a preventable accident on my DAC.

Here is the reality of it:

Went to orientation for J.B. Hunt in Chicago, was there no more than 2 hours when they found out my social security number didnt match the one they had in there computers.

However, here is the insult to injury part:

J.B. Hunt claims that i wrecked one of there road test trucks. My question is: How can i possibly wreck there truck when i never even set foot into one of there trucks? Also, i was booted out of orientation before i was there 2 hours.

You have a right to contest any entry on your DAC report.

You are darn tootin' i'm gonna contest that bogus entry that J.B. Hunt put on my DAC. They know for a SOLID fact i never stepped foot inside any of there trucks. Just typing this out is infuriating me. However, i best cool my jets, call J.B. Hunt up and ask them why they put this on my DAC.

i could see them doing something like that...My husband just went to orientation up in chicago for there dedicated account he has now went through two days of orientation and they just told him that they dont have any trucks for the dedicated account and that he is going to have to come home and sit and wait for a truck. yeah they are going to pay 50 a day but who can live on that. What i dont understand is I thought that you had be employed there before they could put anything on your dac? and your not actually employed there until the second day of orientation..so i would find out about that. Good luck.

JB will consider you an employee as soon as you show up for orientation. There are some companies out there that will consider you an employee as soon as they book you in and order your bus ticket.

Hold up TF, i thought that any company considered you an employee after you been there 2 days and that you were suppose to take the drug tests BEFORE they allowed you into your own truck or even the road test truck :?:

This same thing happen to me when i went to Dallas to work for FFE. With FFE is another story which i will also contest.

I do wish to know this much: I believe you have to take the drug test BEFORE anything else happens, like stepping into the road test truck for the instructor to evaluate how well a driver you are :?: Is this possible :?:

Straight from a JB recruiter a few years ago.

Technically, a company can consider you an employee if you receive any type of monetary compensation from them. This can range from a bus ticket to a hotel stay, to breakfast and a ride to orientation that first morning. Heck, you might even find that a company will consider you an employee if they ordered a bus or plane ticket to orientation and you backed out or didn't show.

Now, not all companies do that, but I've seen plenty, I mean PLENTY of job histories, where a driver simply attended orientation at a company for a day and went home, yet the company considered them an employee and it shows up on their job history.

Yes, you are considered a JB employee the minute you show up for orientation. Why? Because of legal reasons. You are being paid to be there, so you are an employee. As far as the DAC thing. Mistakes are made on DACS occasionally. Instead of griping here, call JB and ask what the deal is. Personally, I would call the terminal first and ask whats up with it there. Get some names that will back up what you are saying. And then work your way up the JB ladder until you get it fixed. A little advice...be nice about it. It could have been just a human mistake. If that doesnt work, then you get to go through the steps of disputing whats on your dac through USIS
