I wish I'd known last Friday night! Had to pull off the road to avoid "shutting down" in traffic for a 20 mile backup! My dispatcher had no knowledge of it before sending my load assignment, and it was DEFINITELY "unusual." For awhile, I considered using the exemption.... but couldn't find line 8.5.5 a&c. So, I just "jiggled" the book a little and showed an 8 hour break OFF THE CLOCK! Only lost $40!!!  [While I was in the sleeper, of course!] |
