Obviously not a truck driver and someone here to cause trouble with your derogatory comments.
Eerily similar to Highwayman who amazingly is from Illinois also.

Washington has the same law on for the third lane. One of drivers went around two trucks that were in the right and center lane doing 50 mph. Our driver got a ticket for $101. It is just a revenue maker for the state

wrong on both points yoopr,i'll just leave it at that,if myth_buster wants to reveal what he does and has done in the past for a living, then that's up to him.

now back to the original post,i run through that area atleast 3-4 a month,i see trucks use the left lane on a regular basis,i myself have been guilty of using the left lane when the right 2 are clogged up,just to get around traffic,i have yet to see a truck get pulled over for using the left lane

Scuze Me? How can it be "Wrong" when I say he sounds alot like Highwayman?
Also, Like I said in another Thread-There are Variances in Law. I Didn't just fall off the Turnip truck and start driving truck Yesterday.

You know what gripes me? Folks who collect a pay check for a job but don't want to accept any responsibility for learing the rules.

When there are three lanes or more going one direction common sense dictates that trucks have no business in the far left lane.

From this post we have learned that California, Washington, and Pennsylvania have laws against such things. A quick search of the Internet has revealed that North Carolina, Florida, and Utah also has a similar law.

North Carolina

Florida

Seattle

Utah

True Blue Driver says:

On most highways trucks have lane restrictions, right lane except to pass. Even on multiple lanes(3 or more) truckers are still restricted to the 2 rightmost lanes, so if you wonder why they sometimes follow too close and do not pass it is because they are not allowed in those other left lanes. If you just move over for a moment and let them get on their way your trip will be much more pleasant.
How can professional drivers not know?

Law and law making are a passion, I believe we have enough laws on the books to cover any possible scenario. Our tax dollars are being spent at a rapid pace with no relief. Taxes in my local area go up several thousands of dollars every year. Cost of living rasies cannot keep up with the rate of inflation. Now some trucker wants tens of thousands if not 100s of thousands spent on signs so they can avoid a $25 ticket for what should be common sense.

Yeah it's just revenue for the state/city coffers because some people fail to use common sense to save five minutes.

Defensive driving is dead, many drivers (four wheelers and above) are nothing more than trained monkeys who hold a steering wheel.

Be safe.

so how long have you been driving Trucks again?

to clarify, when i said wrong on both points,i meant the statements about him not being a truck driver and him just causing trouble, now whether or not he was highwayman,i don't know, you may be right

Uturn sizes it up the best:

I am going to play devil's advocate here and say that in most areas I run in heavy trucks are not allowed in the far left lane of a 3 or more lane (6 or more if you want to look at it that way) road unless posted otherwise.

Been around trucks since the 1960s as a passenger, driver, mechanic, and enforcer.

FYI.

Be safe.

yoopr 10-15-2006 05:19 PM

Yeah, eight years driving or maintaining, four years riding, and nine years in enforcement. What's your point.

Be safe.
