International LoneStar

Has anyone here driven one of these yet.

It's too bad I don't drive any more. I would just have to buy one. I'd have to do a glider kit though and put an N14 in it.

Kinda looks like an old Diamond T or REO.

I saw one up close a few days ago in Lexington, VA at the truck show. I was surprised that it had a plastic grill. I figure for $150,000 I should have a grill made out of some sort of metal rather than plastic. :hellno:

Yes but remember, it is still an International.

About 5 years ago we were looking for a glider kit from International and we were told that they don't do that anymore.

I wouldn't mind a glider kit from a different company to get away from the new emission headaches.

I wonder how much a guy could get for a brand new ISX with no mile on it??

I just think the truck looks cool but it is very expensive. The one in the pic was something like $118K. Just think if it had the condo on it. I don't think I would care to pay that much for a truck.

I guess around $25,000.

i've been seeing more lonestars. real good looking truck.

I would like to take one for a spin. It would be interesting to see how they handle compared to other International trucks. I might trade with them if they give me enough boot.

I might have to go test drive one next week. I've driven a number of Internationals both daycab and pro sleeper and never had any real complaints other then having to grease the rubber pads for the hood so it didn't squeak.

The $25K you mentioned earlier, GMAN, would almost cover the cost of doing an out of frame on an N14 and putting it in the truck if you had one laying around and had the time to monkey with it.

Several years ago I checked on buying a remanufactured CAT engine. I was told the cost would be about $25,000. I believe that was exchange. I figured that Cummins would cost less. An in-frame for a CAT can run from about $10-18,000. A friend of mine did an in-frame on his N14 last year and it cost him almost $10,000. No matter which brand you have it is expensive.
