CSA 2010 Questions

Anyone on here have a good understanding of CSA 2010? I am reading through everything on the site trying to make sense of it, is anyone willing to help me out?

I'm waiting for the rolling cluster of 50 different interpretations crap to start flying.

I think I have a basic understanding of it, from reading about it and listening to Monty Dial as well as those two guys from the FMCSA that were on landline now.

What they said LOL.

Much of it is already in place (safestat) but nobody seems to realize that. Two biggest differences between the current safestat system are:

1. The driver has a safety rating under CSA 2010... just the carrier.
2. The violations are assigned points based on how severe they are.

That's my understanding of it as well. It's a more streamlined approach from the FMCSA. Nothing to worry about............ unless your doing wrong.

I blow past the scales and roadside set ups so I have nothing to worry about. That's all part of being an outlaw trucker.

I blew past Banning the other day and still don't have the answer.

I got a red light on my prepass and when I got to the ramp it said scales closed so I went on by. I asked on the radio what everyone does when that happens.

The answers I got were:

Always follow in cab signals and if you got the red pull in open or closed.

Go on by scales the scales are closed.

They close the scales and give everyone with prepass the red light so they can check only prepass trucks.

Which is correct??

If the sign says open and I get a red, I go in
If the sign says closed, closed is closed, I'm not going in

Knowing my luck, I'd get a red light on a closed scale house, drive on by, and then get pulled over by DOT.

If was me, I'd probably keep on going. However, if you see other trucks in front of you that are pulling in...you might want to, just for the sake of it. Who knows, they may have something that will "ping" on the system that noted that you didn't pull in.

Duct tape on loose nuts? :eek2: I might aughta write that one down.
I had to laugh, but if they asked me if I had any tips, I imagine I'd say something that would be very helpful. :hellno:  "Don't stand behind donkeys." :p
