When I hear rates such as this I assume that the one offering the freight is either dishonest or incompetent.

I think Rev was working that area for a while??? Probably drove the rates down. :D

Sounds more like what you'd historically expect coming out of the Northeast.

J B Hunt does a lot of brokering. No mention of what the load is, but it must be a load that is difficult to get trucks for, or a very dangerous load. Something that no one wants to haul. There is freight coming out of southern CA, but not much going into NV. Might be due to a lack of trucks available to haul the loads.

If I'm not mistaken, doesn't the rate go UP the harder it is to get a truck to take the load? You know, the old supply and demand thing? Increasing the rate makes the load more attractive? Like, I wont go to NYC for a $1 a mile, but will do it for $2.50 (or even $1.80 if it's over 2000 miles).

Coming from JBHunt, wouldn't it be both?

It should. They'd have to keep raising the rate until someone bites. Until then, it sits. sixty seven.seven! I guess the shipper's not in any hurry. :) Come to think of it, that's not a rate, it's an insult.

I have no doubt they moved the load. I never cease to be amazed at how cheap some people will haul a load. They don't even seem to want to wait to find something that they can haul which will make a profit. They find a load and take it without even trying to negotiate a better rate.
