Thanks for the input on myers. I get 18/hr now OT after 40. but i avg. around 45-50hrs a week.

All them WD guys FLY they haul ass. We where on a job running dirt from west chester to Gap. They passed me doing 70-75 on rt.30. They would make one more load at the end of day. Good thing was my boss/owner was driving the 2nd truck and told me dont even try to keep up with them fools. He also said if anybody ask why they were getting 1 more load in then us to come and talk to him. Terry was the worst dont know if you know him. He drives the new black pete with lighting on it. Bobby was cool but he hauled ass too. I never understand drivers that get paid by the hr. that haul ass like that.

LOL.. Yeah, I know terry.. I don't fool with those guys. All they know how to do is run run run, work 20hrs a day, sleep for 4, get up and run run run some more. They can keep that, the owner offered me a job last year, I told him "nah, I'm okay where I'm at".

who do you work for?

Mackman 08-12-2008 01:01 PM

I work for a very small Excavating company called Mariani Contractors. We have 2 tri axles and one lowboy. I drive the white grantie our other truck is a 89 rmodel that is yellow. We only go out on truck rentals when we are slow with the trucks. Most of the time i am hauling for Mariani. If you happen to see me give me shout i am on 19 or 25.

Darren also offerd me a job too. LOL them guys work night and day. They are a crazy bunch that is for sure. I dont know what WD pays but i bet it is peanuts. Plus i think them OTR tractors they made into dump trucks are real junk.

Transfer Dump

Hi everybody! I still can't sell my '98 Pete Transfer, I really regret ever having one!!!

Dump Trucking is hard to make money at. But if you play your cards right you can make alittle bit of money. My oldman must be doing something right he has been an O/O for about 30years. It is a tuff racket.

The funny thing about calling that thing a tri-axle is it's really a quad axle. The drop axle is not a power unit, so how is it different than the steer, other than it's behind the cab and can be lifted?

I say quad axle and I'm sticking to it! :P

We call them super truck and pup or super transfers over here. Dual quads, 4 axles on each, the truck and trailer.

This is what we call a quad axle here:
