IMO there is not enough data to get an accurate picture. It's one strange week out of 5 total weeks since he started. But if you want to play rev's game divide the miles I listed above by 12 and multiply by thirty.

What did he say?

He said he picked up the load we delived on 8/4 on 7/31 not 8/1. That makes it a 12 day week not an eleven day one. That brought our avaerage for the 12 day week down into the high six hundred dollar range.

You calculate the days involved in a load from the point you last delivered until the point you deliver your current load. For example, I delivered my last load on Wednesday the 6th. I then deadheaded home, and will be off until next week Wednesday. When I pick up my next load, the total days involved start from the 6th, and the total miles include my deadhead home.

There are no days off when you are running your own business. Fixed costs happen no matter whether the wheels are turning or not.

It's not horrible, but it's not great either, especially considering there's a lot more that comes out of that $1500.

Since according to rev we don't count monday that is tue-thur or three days. Pays $3350 for 1660 miles or $2.01/mi. That is going to up the average as it is paying $1116.67/day.

He should probably get a job at swift or something. He'd make more money. :rolleyes:

That's right. The higher per day rate on these loads will make up for the lower per day rate on the weekend load. By the end of the month, it will average itself out.

Calculating your revenue per day is a good way to determine if your business is healthy, especially if you aren't running the same amount of miles week after week. Calculating rate per mile only works of you are running about the same amount of miles all the time.

What area is he running for the most part? Is he sticking to a certain region, or is he using all of his 500 mile radius that he can?

At next weeks one trip at 1037 miles it looks like he is using ALL of the 500 mile radius plus a bit. I don't know how flexible Progressive is on staying exactly within that 500mi radius.
