Need help from some O/O got a ?
 

Alright guys got a couple ?'s for ya. A buddy of mine owns a small paving company. Has 2 dump trucks. A 10 wheeler and 6 wheeler single axle.

He is selling the single axle (33,000lbs GVW) on EBAY some guy is looking at it in FL. He asked me if i could drive the truck from PA to FL. If they guy buys it. I said no problem i am laid off right now. The truck has IFTA but for PA, DE and NJ. SO what do we have to do to get permits and what ever else we would need to be able to go to FL one time.

Also he said he will pay me 300 bucks to drive it down there and he is flying me back. He also is paying for all hotel rooms. Is that a good deal. i think it is but then again i really dont know. Also i will need a log book right???

You would need to contact the DOT or State Police in the States you are traveling through and ask to see if you need a one time trip permit to pass through.

He is only going to pay you $300 dollars to drive over 800 miles? IMO, I would ask for at least $1000 plus hotel and food, plus he will fly you back too.

You will need to run a log book also.

These days can't work too cheap, time is money.

well its 300 cash. He is a good buddy of mine also. Anyway He would have to call each state we are going to go through. Is there like just 1 # we could call to get all the stuff paperwork we would need??

Is he going to leave his tags on the truck and then you bring them back?

Yeah he is selling the truck so i think he would want his tags back i will ask him.

What I mean is, is he using his tags for transport or get a temporary tag. When I bought mine I got a temp tag and put it in the windshield. I didn't have any problems but I didn't need to go that far. Went through MD scale on 83 and they didn't raise an eyebrow.

I dont know i will ask him. He dont know sh*t about trucks so i got to do all the leg work and find out what we need to do to make it right. Is there any websites i could look at for more info.

I was thinking about that 300 bucks and how long is it going to take me 3 days. thats only 100 a day. Im going to have to talk to him about that.
