GMAN is definitely the most respectable individual here. Full of honest, well thought-out advice, and never a personal attack or foul language. Only problem is we need a few more GMAN's.

GMAN, doesn't that blue suit get uncomfortable after a while? :?

Definately. Cheers to G-man and all the others out here who have been successful in this business who are willing to share their insight. Here's to all of you!!!

I see no need to use foul language or personal attacks. It only diminishes your position. And as far as the suit is concerned, it can get a bit snug. Perhaps I need to find a costume change.

Congrats Mr. Man of the G.

We tried a long time ago to get Gman to change his avatar. From what I read he did. For a very very short amount of time, I missed it. It's his lil trade mark/brand, that blue mask. It's a shining symbol of solid no BS advice coming your way, with a 100% gurantee.

If he does change it.. someone do a screen cap and send it to me.. don't want to miss it

GMAN 10-05-2007 11:39 PM

Serbie, I did change it for a short time. I had a few posters who seemed to be bothered by the blue mask. Several people sent some interesting avatars for me to check out. I do appreciate those who sent them, but none really seemed to be me. When I changed it, I also had some who wanted me to keep the mask. I suppose that I will keep it unless something comes along which really knocks my socks off.

I have to confess to looking at drivers of Tn Flatbeds and step decks as we pass thinking I might see gman. I always feel dumb because the only way I would know it was him was if he wore the mask.

In all seriousness, your 8000 posts have been well thought out and consistently helpful. I only hope we will get another 8000 and Myself and everyone else here will strive to be as supportive and positive regardless of how many times we have answered the same question.

You know what, in todays world there is so many of the experienced folks that do not bother to help the younger guys.

I've been blessed with help from many people, including GMAN and others on this site.

Some older guys blame the younger guys for the industries problems. Meanwhile, they refuse to educate them about working cheap, running illegal etc..

If there was just some culture in our industry, where knowledge was passed down, the industry would be much better.

DITTO.

I, too, offer my thanks to the GMAN. I owe a lot to this board (and many of the posters), because it is been a wealth of information for the new guys. I only wish more people knew about it. I have carefully plotted my path as a new carrier based on the information found here. If I am ultimately successful, then, I have GMAN to thank, because I have carefully followed his advise. If I fail, I can only blame myself.

I most appreciate the tone in which GMAN writes. I never get the impression he is talking down to someone, no matter the inexperience.

Btw, GMAN is my grandsons favorite because of the blue mask.

After reading all good things that has been said about GMAN I found it hard to add anything that hasn't already been said. Then it hit me. It all boiled down to one thing: He is a PROFESSIONAL
We all carry that title to an extent because we hold a CDL ( professional driver ), but GMAN carries that title in MANY areas: Businessman, mentor, coach, friend, ect... Everything he does, he does it in a professional manner. The kind of guy you like and respect regardless of what you do for a living. That is what I think makes him a true "gem".

As far as the blue suit; Well its kinda grown on me now, don't change it!
