using truck compressor to inflate tires???????
 

I think I read that someone on this board rigged up a deal that would allow him to inflate truck tires on the side of the road using the truck compresor?

Anyone got any info on how I might do this?

You can buy 50' airhose with a gladhand connector at any large truckstop. I put a quick-release connector on the other end. You can snap a tire chuck in, and your good to go. It will also work with a variety of air powered tools that you might want to keep on the truck.

I use that hose all the time and it works great. It's a little hard to connect and disconnect but it works like a champ!!

yeah they work great except for the air chuck itself, ive bought to airlines and chucks from the wilco the past 6 months, but i bought an air chuck from truck pro and that thing is heavy duty!!!!!

I used mine once when it was like 0 degrees out and the hose was hard as a rock. I tried to uncoil it and it was icy out. It dragged me back every time I tried to reach the trailer wheels. :lol: It was pretty funny.

What I plan to do is buy some compressor hose and run it down both sides of the trailer with quick connect fittings. I'll put 4 quick fittings on. 2 on the rear and 2 on the front. Then I can walk around with a short 6 footer and hook up to the connectors and reach all 18 wheels without having to wrestle with that plastic hose!

What he is trying to say is tap into any air tank or air line on your truck or trailer. Take out the plug on any air tank and put a ball valve with a quick connect. Put one on the trailer air tank and one on the tractor air tank. Use a short hose that is carried in your tool box and fill any tire up. It is also good for bleeding out your air tanks to get out the moisture, Make sure you use a plug on the bottom of the tank if you have one. Hope this helps. 8)
