There's alot more to it than you realize. But, still...best of luck.

I think you missed my point on the whole ice thing..it's nost just "throw the chains and learn quick". When a 60k lb. trailer starts pushing your 20k lb. tractor all over the road, or the trailer decides it's tired of following you and starts to pass you, a college degree isn't going to tell you how to fix that.

I'll reserve my comments for a future date.

Don't keep us waiting....as they always say...."No better time than the present!"

Nope. My lips are sealed right now. Not in an offending mood today.

Besides, Steve has never listened to anything I've said before (even when I was blatantly correct), so really, there is no point in even commenting.

A ten speed is a funny shift patten. Are you down shifting into the right spot?

It looks like the max distance from the king pin to the center of the rear axle is restricted to 40.75 feet and the maximum spread is 6.1 feet. I sort of take that to mean that a 10' fixed spread is no good. I don't see anything about having an adjustable spread trailer just as long as you don't spread it more than 6.1 feet???

If you plan on running into Canada, you should check laws in each province. As I recall, some do not allow spread axle trailers. At least the standard U.S. spread. I haven't been running up there is about 3 or 4 years, so things could have changed. You can always check with Rocky. He should be up to speed on this sort of thing.

I run into Ontario every week with a stadard U.S. spread and never given a second look.
