G-man nailed that one good. With the increasing number of scumbag brokers out there, you definately don't want to be giving them your SS#.

You should consider either setting up with a credit service, to check brokers out before you deal with them, or buy either a Gold Book or a Red Book, which has the vast majority of the DECENT brokers listed, and their worthyness as a Broker rated.
