Yeah, we can't have the cops out there raising revenue for the STATE! Better to just let them sit at the Dunkin' Donuts and have that many FEWER idiots on the road! :hellno::lol2:

I'm kinda with Kevin on this one. The article said he had just delivered his load. Why didn't he do the most simplest thing.... ASK the receivers what would be the best way OUT OF HERE???

Trip planning? Yeah.

Maps and GPS? Sometimes.

ASK questions? Priceless!

There are two logical answers for that:

1)The receivers could not speak English and the only person that can at the place was on lunch(after all, this did happen in NEW JERSEY)

2)The driver could not speak and/or understand English

Yeah you HAVE to cut through a small town to get there, and it is not very 18 wheeler friendly!

I have been to a lot of non-truck friendly places making deliveries or pickups, especially in PA/NJ/NY.

In PA alone I have had to go down a lot of weight restricted and size restricted roads, not because I was lost, but because it was the only way to get to where I was supposed to be! If you look those signs almost always say Local Deliveries Only!

In PA I had to go across a bridge that was posted a 10 ton limit made of wood! I stopped infront of it, called the place and said is there another way I am supposed to go? and they said nope, that was the only way, it is posted 10 tons but trucks must cross it to get to them. They assured me the bridge can hold 10 tons easily, and in reality the 10 ton limit is per axle/tandem set, the bridge was only 5 foot long.

Wow, it's a great thing that nobody on here has EVER made a mistake before...

I like to believe that everyone makes mistakes from time to time, and often the only thing that separates an accident from a near miss is the circumstances surrounding it.

How many of YOU, given the exact same scenario would have made the same mistake....?

It's not the mistake....it's the (attempted) solution that's the killer sometimes!

Lord knows I've made some wrong turns, and many times have been luckier than smart. This type of mistake seems to be an offspring of panic. Experience teaches that panic begets, well, that picture!

Not me. Sorry if that disappoints you. The information given gives NO indication that the driver could NOT have left the same way he came in.

Oh, okay! Didn't know we had a perfect driver in here. Care to tell us lesser mortals how you do it?
