Pain Management
I was wondering if any one here knows a driver that is on pain management. In taking a drug screen, these different pain meds are sure to show up. Are the people that do the screening obligated to keep the info confidential as they should, or is this a touchy subject in this industry?? Has anyone gone thru such a thing and what was the out come??
Thanks!!! |
DOT has a list of meds that, if you are taking them, you are not allowed to drive a commercial vehicle. If the meds you're on do not appear on that list, you're fine. If they are, DOT says you are not allowed to drive. Some time back, I believe there was a complete list published on CAD.

swift had already known that i had been prescribed oxycontin a week before i was set to have a pre-hire urine test. they gave me the green light about it, and made sure i didn't get a truck until after i had gotten done with that stuff, and wasn't going to need it any time after getting a truck. the reasoning for the stuff was that during the cdl schooling days, i had an ingrown hair pimple on my lower back that i had popped. the wound became infected and an abscess grew to about the size of a golf ball. it was lanced at a hospital, and i proceeded to feel quite good for an entire week.

my mom got bit by a brown recluse spider. oh you should have seen the pus on that. it was white and creamy. and all that dead muscle. the venom is necrotic. the wound was 4 quarters deep and just as big as a quarter. cleaning it out everyday was fun. now her scar looks like she was shot.
how's that for an infection story. ;) yeah, still a little phlegmy. |
I am sooo craving a custard filled doughnut about now :puke:
