Fuel

Has anyone experienced problems fueling on I-10 between San Antone and Tallahassee? BOL

I've been seeing fuel limits since yesterday. Up in KY, Love's had a 100 gallon limit. In Asheville, NC, at the TA, there was a 250 gallon limit. Most stations in NC and SC are running short on gasoline. The truck stop I'm at right now only has premium. The TA in Asheville was out completely. The little gas station down the street from them had a line of cars 40 deep waiting to use the pumps.

Diesel seems to be okay even though I went to about 8 stations in ATL looking for gas for my POV. Did notice that Pilot Wildwood Ga had a sign up that they did not have ultra low sulfer diesel only low sulfer diesel.

they are trying to get the fuel prices up again. They can't even off load the barges off the coast of NY / NJ refinerys in NJ and WV reduce output.

I was just talking to one of our drivers that came out of Chattanooga. He said that Asheville and Canton NC are completely out. The T/A and both Flying J's in Wytheville, VA are out.

Sort of glad I'm stuck in the northeast this week.

Man. A quick search of the Flying J fuel price website shows a lot of locations with critical supply or low supply. I guess planning ahead is on the menu.

kinda reminds you of the fuel crisis from yesteryear, with the long lines and gas rashings,is this a sign of more to come.Hmmmmmmm well we shall see plz.stand by.

Reason is Double whammy, refineries where changing over to winter production when Ike came in so reduced production and then interuption. Plenty of oil sitting in ships and storage facilites just not enough refineries.

First new refinery to be built in over thirty years, is planned for a location just north of Sioux City, Ia near Elk Point, SD. Was recently approved by the citizens of the county and is still in the construction planning stages. Is reportedly going to employee 1,200 when done. Maybe when done will put to rest the refinery excuses.
