Weirdest thing I seen, truck load of ping pong balls rolling around the chicken coop. 8)
In truth, seen a gallon paint can rolling down the highway luckily I missed it by mere inches with my steer tire. Caught it on my step and got a splash effect of yellow going on down my right side now to highlight the red paint. Never caught the vehicle it came off of. Had a coyote leading me down the interstate in western VA one evening. I had slowed to 50 thinking it was a deer and it was staying in front of me without a problem. Stayed out ahead of me for about a mile. Yesterday, seen a fuel cell from a car laying on the shoulder but no car to be found. :? |
Thursday morning flying j in commerce Ga, man was standing outside door. had his shirt pulled way up and his big pot belly sticking out, he was putting little stickers all over his chest. I walked by and tried to ignore him, as I passed, I heard him say..if somebody doesnt say something soon, I'm gonna slap the :dung: out of somebody.

May not be the WIERDEST thing so far that I've seen.... but....
Saw a hawk leave it's perch off a cliff on the left side of the road and basically chase down a truck and fly right into the left side of the trailer! Since both were going essentially the same way, it didn't kill him..... just knocked him silly and he fell flat on his back in the fast lane. As I approached and swerved, I could see him using his wings to try to raise his head up..... and I could SWEAR he was shaking it to clear the little "birdies" that must've been circling it!! His eyes were as big as saucers, and "swimming" around, and his mouth was open like he was yelling "SH!T! That hurts!"  I radioed back to warn others to avoid squashing him, and I really HOPE he had a chance to get up and "walk away!" Probably should do a little "retraining" though! Talk about a "preventable!"  |
Hey Hobo...a few years back, I saw a hawk nail a snake that was crossing the road. It was a country road and they ended up right on the edge. Nothing else but me for miles, so I pulled over and watched. Took him about 2 minutes to get the snake flight worthy, then he carried it up to a nearby fence post to feast on. Pretty cool.

Twilight: I've said this before, but will again for newbies, and those who are still learning about our great country and it's treasures.... Unlike the Carrions (Ravens and Buzzards,) who NEVER get hit by a truck because they are more concerned with their OWN lives than their "mission," HAWKS are easily.... and often.... killed by trucks because they are HUNTERS and are "single minded" about their mission of catching LIVE prey (not roadkill.) They have "tunnel vision" when they are hunting, and they are totally unaware of US! So.... it is incumbent on US to be aware of THEM! Though it is unlikely, you MAY someday find an Eagle in the same "pursuit," and he will be as "blind" to you as the Hawk is! PLEASE.... learn the difference between Hawks and Ravens..... and slow down to protect the Hawk..... and try your BEST to kill a Raven! We are ALL god's creatures except the Raven (who is the Devil's seed!) and we should do what we can to protect our OWN! I don't know.... color me "crazy"..... but a hawk (or an Eagle) is a beautiful thing to see! Ravens are a dime a dozen and feed off the dead! Um.... you LOCAL drivers are exempt from this lesson, as you will probably never SEE such beauty during your careers!      |
