My company lets drivers take their trucks home with them for as many days off they have coming...
They all give us kingpin locks, steering locks, and trailer door locks to secure the rig with, and we are expected to use them.... and we do NOT have to pay to take it home... Look around, seems everyone does it differently..... |

Best to ask the company, better yet ask their drivers, they’ll tell you the “un-official truck at home policy” |
This information is very much appreciated.
Everything from what to do with the truck as well as choosing a company to work for. |
There are a lot of trucking companies in the harrisburg/carlisle area. I would look into all of them. Old Dominion, Roadway, Knight, Shaffer, Schneider, Pitt Ohio, Feesers, and Kinard has a terminal in York. I dont know much about any of these places other than driving past them.

the home terminal is in phoenix and i live in scottsdale. i bobtail home. i park the bobtail on the side of my house, on the property. i've seen scottsdale police officers drive by, stop, stare at it, and then go on about their business. for it being scottsdale, i'm amazed that people don't have a problem with it and the police haven't given me any crap over it. the scottsdale police department has the most bored police officers. the most major crime they'll arrest people for is shoplifting at the local walmart supercenter, or criminal speeding, and each of those will have half of the precinct responding to a single call.
