There are some other very important questions that you should make sure to ask as well:

1.) You all don't check DAC reprts, do you??

2.) That DWI that I got will be a year old in another eight months. That won't be a problem, will it??

3.) I know that I have to take a drug test.....I also know it's unconstitutional......Can you tell me if that stuff called "ReadyKleen" really works??

4.) I'll be done with probation in about 11 more months. Could you all promise me home time on the first Thurday of each month??

5.) Is it true that the cops can search your truck anytime they feel like it??

I know that there are a lot of drivers out there who have more experience than I do, so perhaps they might be able to add to this list.

One more question to ask is.....

Will my Felonies for drug trafficking, possession of a illegal narcotic and vehicular man slaughter keep me from being a trainer?
Those are all good questions to ask. And another that should asked:
DOES THE COMPAMY GIVE ME THE PHONE NUMBER FOR THE FEDERAL MARSHALS OR DO I HAVE DO GET THAT MY SELF?
HOW MANY LOG BOOKS AM I ALLOWED TO USE?
DOES THE COMPANY REIMBURSE ME FOR THE COST OF LOT LIZARDS AND HIGH SPEED CHICKEN FEED IF I GET A RECIEPT OR IS THAT TAX DEDUCTIBLE?

Does your company actually audit my log book ?

Papasweet;
If you are interviewing with Swift it won't matter what you ask. They'll hire you.
But Swift will not be your best bet. There are better alternatives.
You are on the right track by looking around and finding a terminal close to home. Look further. I found a furniture manufacturer close to me and it has worked out very well....I've been driving about a year and a half.

I called first - before I was licensed - and asked them if they ever hire newly licensed drivers. He said yes, on occasion, he did. Then after I got my license I called him back, went in to talk to him and was hired that day, pending background check.

Call even if their advertisement and material says they require X years experience.

Take your training seriously, ask lots of questions here at the forum, and factor out the well meaning wisecracks. :)

"Can we drink beer during orientation?"

Funny, but about two years ago I had a driver in orientation who decided to drink a beer during a break at orientation and got sent home. He actually called me up after he got sent home and cussed me out because I was his recruiter and I didnt tell him that you couldnt drink beer during orientation.
You know us recruiters....always leaving out the important details. Shame on me!

Useless needs to be posting in the humor section I guess. Some of us wanting to get into trucking has alot of questions and the sarcasism does not answer are questions. Though it was funnt but not right for the question asked. Thanks to the ones who did give a serious answer.

Well, if you can't handle BS then you don't need to be driving a truck!!! You need to relax, we were just kidding around.
