Heya all,

curious if anyone can shed some light on this company as i am thinking about making it my choice to go team with my Wife..

They would start us at .41s/p and would train us togather and they have a school in NM, for us to obtain our CDL's and then we are paid 400 week 1-3 and 500 - 4- 7 with TE then given a truck.. Just kinda wondering how well they can and will run teams? equipment? benefits? etc etc ya know common stuff..

Anything would help at all and thanks in advance.

Just go to the top of the task bar, and use the search feature. That's going to be your best bet, as there have been a fair amount of questions about IDC lately.

You might get your Cdl's together but they will not train you together once you get to Interstate. You will each train with seperate trainers and then get your truck together. I don't know of a single company that will train a team together in the same truck.

Central Ref says they will.. and IDC told me on the phone that us togather would go out with TE for 7 weeks.. me and my wife everynight would sleep in the truck and the TE would get a hotel. And we would run as a solo under solo rules.

lying were they?

she said that is how they would train us.. but can anyone else verify this?

Hey Karnajj, you work for Interstate? You must not, because you are giving wrong info here! Interstate will train teams together and the trainer will sleep somewhere else while the team sleeps in the truck. The CDL school will most likely be one that Interstate likes to hire from, but not financed by the company. The comany will reimburse you for some of your school tuition. The actual time you spend at Tacoma is 3 days for orientation, then 40 hrs each with a local trainer to see if you're up to the task of driving in traffic, city streets, freeway and highway and backing skills. You'll also have to pass IDC's pre-trip, brakes test, skills test and driving test before you go OTR with another trainer. Then you both will have to complete 200 hrs. OTR each (running "super solo") and then test out on everything again before being assigned to your own truck.
I'm going to be solo and have about 3 weeks left OTR. I have a great trainer that is very knowledgeable in all aspects of making a living, being the safest and most productive I can be.
If you decide on Interstate, you most likely will be glad you did, I just hope freight picks up soon. Most the truck stops are starting to look like full parking lots by noon time.

7 weeks of training? ouch

Hey Kona, you did the 200 hour thing, right? uh huh. I thought so. At least that's what your trainer said. My trainer at IDC worked for Gordon for 6 months right after he got his CDL. Does the name Iceman sound familiar?

I did whatever 4 weeks is. After that I had learned everything you would learn during training and then it was time to go out and run solo...

What the 7 weeks means everything from the first day of orientation on. Freight is kinda slow right now, so it could take a little longer.

Hey Ptown, I have another question for you, I see you live in WA. Where did you hear about this school in NM? Did someone tell you it is run by IDC? If not, why would you go to NM for school? There are plenty of great schools here in the northwest.
