It is my turn to post

Hello every one I am about to retire from the Army. I have been lurking on these boards for years trying to learn about the industry and thought that I would post my experience in hope that it might help some one else. I have started a CDL program with Savannah Tech. It is 32 hours a week for 10 weeks, the hours are from 3 to 11 o’clock Monday through Thursday. The state pays for it to through the hope Scholarship program. The program runs from 29 January to 5 April, and my last day in the Army is 10 April. I have Applied to TMC, Maverick, Coastal Transport (A subsidiary of Comcar industries), Gemi, and Dillon transport. I have been pre approved by TMC, Maverick and Coastal so far.
I plan to be regional for a few years and then stay local hauling gas. The only way I will deviate from this plan is if I get fired and black balled from the industry or if something better comes along.

Camp Swampy...Ft Stupid...no matter the name, I still spent 7 years of my life there in Hooterville! The best thing about the place is Savannah is so close! Who were you with there? I was in 103rd MI. Retiring in 3 months!
Welcome to the board and BOL in the industry.

I have been on Stewart for just over 2 years. My 1st 18 months were with 4-64 Armor in 3 ID, then the last 9 months with the 1st Army in a AC/RC position. I like it though bought a house in Richmond Hill and plan on dying here in about 30 years.
Any way we started drop and hooks last night, have seemed to get the hang of it. We spent last week doing Logs and pre trips. Well I hope every one is having a good day

Good Luck to you Drill!!! If you have any questions about TMC, I'm here for ya!
Best of luck to you whomever you choose!

Thanx Fred, is it true that TMC does not let you smoke in the truck? I do like there trucks though and there home time policy.
Well we have been doing straight back, seems to be simple enough. Going to do trip planning tomorrow night.
