Depends on where in the world you are mate..
In the U.K a newly qualified driver would get around £22,000 p.a
In Mumbai he would get about £5
Should,nt joke like that eh?

$30-$35,000 avg 1st year, and $32-$37 2nd year and a potential of $40,000 plus 3rd year on.

Depending on how much they pay for training and this will vary from company to company and how long the training is (sometimes it is better to be out longer if the training is good) The first few months will be not much.

My husband at Davis was only getting paid $325.00 a week for training. He was out with his trainer for about 6 weeks. Then the next couple of weeks he got around 2500 miles. At both Davis and May they start you out with less miles the first couple of weeks to see how you do.

Last trip he got 2847 miles and this trip he is getting 2975 miles. And this is still slow time for flatbedding.

So not including the training period and the first two weeks after that.

If he gets 2800 miles a week and tarps one time a week he will gross approximately $47,840.00 in a year.

Many times he will get more than the 2800 miles but he will also have days off so I rounded it to 2800 miles.

Allot will depend upon the company and how many miles you get though the slow times and good times. Also the pay scale, how much waiting is involved. This is just what I at this point see doable for us.

GFIW,

Just curious, is your hubby getting cpm or % at Davis? And if you don't mind me asking, what amount?

Goin Fer It 01-07-2007 08:40 PM

As of January 1st he is getting 30 cpm (practical miles) at Davis. Practical miles add up sometimes to two cents more a mile. They do have occasional LTL loads where in addition of cpm he could get a percentage.

I did not add in any bonus money he may get with would be another 1 cpm for any month were he does not have an incident.

I made a mistake in my calculations I added an additional 840 in that would be weekly pay. For the year it should have been $47,840.00.

EXACTLY. Depends on WHERE you drive, WHAT you drive (van, flatbed, reefer, tanker), HOW HARD you drive, How FAR you drive. TMC drivers make between 45,000-60,000 ON AVERAGE their first year. There are some higher and some lower.
