This tends to be my theory as well....

You are talking about those onwer ops with those 22inch diameter chrome straight exhaust pipes right..... most company trucks have a standard single muffled exhaustt and you can,t really hear the jake....

Sign or no sign, and since you never know the moods of the jerks in the scale house, I turn mine off.

i do use my jake quite a bit....but why in the hell would you have it on in a scale house, you must not dim your headlights either, and have 100lbs of crap on the dash.....some common sense goes along ways.

who the hell are you talking too?????? must be everyone .... I shut off my headlights, have nothing on dash, and the jake in the truck i drove only comes on at 12mph or more so rollin through a scalehouse at speeds lower than that its not on anyway, besides if you barely put your foot on the clutch the jake don't work either... leaving the switch on doesn't affect my driving, its all a personal thing.... just how I learned to drive, maybe your different......most every driver I ever met said they leave their jake on and never shut it off, like I said it may be just a bad habit, you don't have to do it. You can't really say its wrong, if you do then its wrong for you and you are not everyone, or are you?

I did move on to greener grass, I put in my time with FFE, then took my skills to a local company, very small company, and its nice, out 6 to 10 days at most and I keep closer to home, get paid more and i get too drive a real truck now, KW T600, so I am happy ........ happy happy happy

So NO is the answer. I kinda figured, seems like common sense. just wanted to see what others did.
