CDL permit practice

Hey Guys!

Before I go off to Millis I have to have my CDL permit. I went to the clerks office and they gave me a manual to study. Only problem is the manual is about 150 pages thick and covers every possible endorsment you can think of but doesnt have any permit practice tests.

I know the Kentucky permit test is 45 questions long......and I dont wanna spend all my time studying stuff I dont need to know yet.

So if anyone knows where I can find a good CDL practice exam so I can study a bit more efficient I would appreciate it!

PRactice Tests

layover.com has practice tests in the Newbie Forum. There are other sites but I don't know them off the top of my head. BOL

I just took my tests in WA. I took more of the tests than was required. The link above in another post (cristcld.com) helped me a lot, along with the questions in the booklet you got. I don't know which tests your state requires before getting the permit.

In WA I had to take the general knowledge, combination, and air brakes. I also took the doubles and triples test.

Before you can take the hazmat test you have to pay a $94 fee to DOT for a criminal backround test. You have to have passed that before you can take the written test (at least in WA).

Hope this helps you. BOL!

Thanks for the great info!

All I have to have for Millis right now is general knowledge, combination, and air brakes. I can take the other tests, doubles, triples, hazmat ect..... But I can always take those later, no sense in overwhelming my self just yet!

Thanks again for the links!

Well I would read it all including the bus section. I was told "you never know what test you'll get, it could have bus questions on it" I have read the Washington CDG 2 times working on 3rd and will read it 2 or 3 more times " cover to cover" before I take the test. But thats just me. Shooting for 100% score.
