DITTO, Lady North Star. She sounds like she could be stuck in a snow storm and die of thirst. Didn't anyone ever tell her that you can melt down the snow (as long as it's not yellow) and make coffee or soup? And, you have to be careful about those "candle" things. They burn up oxygen in the truck.

Use additive in your fuel so it won't gel, and don't let your tanks go empty. You can idle your truck for several days on half tanks if you have to. And, when it comes to "wind-chill", that only effects you if you're out of the truck. If you're inside the truck, all you're dealing with is the thermometer reading.

More than one person has died of "asphyxiation" because of using something with a flame to keep warm in an enclosed space.

Far be it for me to accuse you of leaving your truck alongside the road like that.   But, I also always enjoy the pics you post. And, they say that Green Bay is the "FROZEN TUNDRA"....

I just drove I-80 from Wyoming out to CA and just arrived this morning. I saw no less that 4 rigs turned over in the media or on the side of the road. They had a snow storm blow through and very high winds a couple of days ago and the carnage is still out there next to the road. Be safe out there, slow down, and if it is getting too bad pull over.

For those that haven't driven the western states the high and gusty winds will take you out! The weather is no joke and don't fool yourself. The weather conditions in the rockies and high plains can change to very dangerous in a matter of minutes. Use your grey matter between the left and right ear.

Don't let some super trucker that blows by you influence your thinking... If your lucky you won't see him again(if you get my meaning).

I know out west it is best to wear layers of clothing and just take off what you don't need to start and then just add as needed. Make sure you have a good wind barrier.

REMEMBER THIS! Put your cold weather gear on BEFORE you get out and get cold & wet!

Glad I didn't have to go to Denver this week. Seems I heard they got quite the snow storm there the other day!
