Wanting info on the Drug Testing Standards

Does anyone have any info on the drug screening the industry does? Is it standard with all companies or do each set their own rules and screening? What about Random Drug Testing? :?: A[/b]

You can learn all you ever want to know about what the FMSCA regulations are on this subject by going HERE

Thanks for the site but in all honesty that was not very helpful, it was to hard to follow and not only that, i am sure companies have their own guidelines and do more then or less then the Fed's require...

Man i guess this is a really touch subject that no one wants to talk about it. Hmmmmmm makes me wonder.....

The answer to your question is yes and yes, companies have to follow the FMCSR regs and have there own policies, all you have to do is read one section:
?382.305 Random testing.

The curious thing is why an unhappy trucker?s wife is so curious about drug testing, hhhhmmm :?:

Wrong-a company can do more but a company can NEVER do less than what the "Fed's" require.

Companies can do more than the regs require when it comes to drug and alchohol testing, but to do less than that invites some very stiff fines and potential revocation of the operating authority.

If you have a specific question(s) about drug testing then ask them and someone may be able to help, but as it stands right now you seem to be on a fishing expedition and/or are just painting things with a broad brush.

Except for a handful of experienced drivers who come to this particular forum to help new and wannabe drivers most of the people here are just that. Those who have just entered the industry or those wanting to and they may not know what their company's policies are on drug testing beyond pre-employment.

It all depends on what you took, some last a day, and some can last weeks. And they can drug test you as much as they want. In the past month, the military has given me a total of 6 drug tests. Can't you tell the military really wants to catch someone.

Sounds like someone got "popped" with a dirty test on a random (probably soon after another random) and thinks that somehow it was "unfair" that they where tested. I've seen this before.. people whoooping it up in the hotel the night after they were tested, only to get popped by a random before they get out of orientation...
