That was one of the big reasons why I was always in my DMs ear to get me on a flippin dedicated/regional. I've heard a few stories of screw-up swift drivers, who dont know how to audit their own logbook, not to mention how to keep their 7-day recap up to date (one 1st month driver would work 7 days, then zero out his recap to get a fresh 70...and he was rewarded with a log class then got a t!ts DC run making $800+ a week.)
as much as you dont want to believe it, there are runs out there where Swifty solo drivers pull in $1000 a week....ive seen the pay stubs. They are rare, but i know of atleast 3.
I believe it. There are some decent jobs if you know where to look. OTR, Regional, Local. You just have to find out where they are.Originally Posted by Kevin0915
Actually, my roommate during orientation was clearning $1000 a week. Granted, he had some previous experience (Swift dont care, they still start you out like a newbie driver) and he was clearning $1000 a week. (actually like $950+ but whos counting) He was running a Dollar Tree Dedicated account out of Oklahoma. Would get paid $100 to unload his own trailer, $20 per stop and the mileage. Most runs were usually around 300mi and had 3-4 stops on average. So just PER DAY, he was making $200-250, for working just 6 days, thats $1200-1500 before taxes. throw in another 200-250 if he worked all 7 days. That was one of the big reasons why I was always in my DMs ear to get me on a flippin dedicated/regional. I worked for Swift for 3 years. I had some ups and downs with them but overall it was very good. Many weeks I made $1,000 although I never cleared that much. If I hadnt moved to a region where they just couldnt get me home I don't think I would still be there but I'd have put in several more years I'm sure.
