Last year in sept I went to truck driving school then I went to drive for Hogan transport. I started my training and well ill admit I really wasnt prepared like I thought I was to go OTR. Well I didnt go with my first trainer and I stayed home a thought about if I wanted to go again. So hogan gave me one more chance with a different trainer and I went. Well I quit again and did care for it. So Hogan put on my profile that I was a no rehire. I know they probally wouldnt rehire me of course. But I was wondering since it has been over a year that some one else would hire me ever now and then I get a call or something in the mail from a trucking company wanting to hire me. Should I just give it up cause it probally wont change want you all think I miss driving them big ole trucks.

Yes, but you aren't yet qualified to drive in the first place.
You'll probably have to get some refresher training before a company will take you on as a trainee driver.
Have you gotten a copy of your USIS/DAC report? See what's on tho I doubt there's anything 'cause you were never a Hogan driver. Then take it from there.
What I don't understand is why you hadn't gotten your head right to do OTR for at least a year to get the experience to try a local gig. BOL

Good luck
I wouldn't worry to much. I did the same thing I went OTR with werner hated it. got off the truck in traning. I went back to my old job for 2 years and then decided to go back OTR with another company. They didn't even blink at my 2 years since I graduated from school. Some companies don't like the time off with no experience others don't care. It just depends on there insurance policy. As long as you have a CDL your qualified to drive in the eyes of the state. They don't care how much experience you have.

You will ofcourse need to seriously commit to driving. If you feel you are ready now...go for it..and be fired up about it.
You sound like you are still unsure you REALLY want to drive OTR.
You will need to seriously commit yourself to becoming an experianced Driver. That is talking about 1-2 years OTR. Once you have that behind you...the doors of oppertunity open.
You magnify the thing about a Trucker many people fail to see. Trucker's really have to be in control of their life. Trucker's always have the same problems and needs as the rest of society....yet we manage it rolling down the road, with just a couple days at home, from time to time.
No one is going to give it to you. You have to go out there and take it.
Make your decision, commit yourself to it, be confident, and smile...King of the Road.

Expect to hate it at first. Do you think a marine likes boot camp? You'll gradually come to grips with the lifestyle, and if after a year or so, if you still don't like it, THEN think about doing local work or something. If you're single, by all means do it now- see what's out there. Once you're marreid it's tough, unless she likes to travel.

If you're not sure about OTR, take a look at local. At least you'll be driving and gaining experience every day. Local is tough to find but there are some out there that will hire you.
