Never even heard of the guy lol but I like him. It looks like the band was having fun too.

Tommy Emmanuel is an Austrailian flat picker little younger than me,
but we share the same first inspiration to guitar...Chet Atkins, Jerry Reed and Roy Clark also. Here is a nice video with Tommy giving tribute. That's some sweet picking, Roadhog. It made this tough morning less tough. How do you find out about all these pickers? Are you a guitar magazine type?

ZZ Top makes any day better. Billy Gibbons and I used to rent from the same video store. I tried to rent a Hitchcock movie once (back in the days of VHS), but found that he was the one who had it, complete with ridiculously large overdue fees... that he could obviously afford.

I feel safe in knowing if anything were to happen to one of the ZZ Top beards, all the flags in Spain would be flown at half mast.
Here are some more great beards... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=08e9k-c91E8&feature=related |

Holy moly, that was one of the funniest things I've ever seen. I think you meant to post this in the "Don't be afraid" thread?

Haha, posting in the wrong forum is hardly a ban-worthy offense.
But, about that wooden paddle some folks were talking about... |

Nice Timberwolf!
Beck reminded me of Tal Wilkenfeld... for the Bass lovers ... http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l2...ass_player.jpg http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mQgd1fmPI1k |
Glad you like it Hog, I saw Beck play at Red Rocks back in 1980, back when it was a general admission arena we got there the night before and partied into the am, slept for a while and woke up to do it again before the show, were in the 8 th row, a week later we did it again and were in the 13th row for Jake & Elwood "The Blues Brothers"..
Not sure if Shawn Phillips is your style or not but I have always admired his music ever since my older brother turned me onto him way back in the late 70's Shawn Phillips Tribute - YouTube By the way how are you feeling these days? I truly hope all is well for you.. |
That's one of my favorite Neil Young songs, Kentla93. Thanks for posting. I'll be listening to that song until I'm six feet under.

New female country band
Just went and saw Ronnie Dunn the other day and he put on a great show. I would have gone to see his opening act playing by themselves though. Quite easy on the eyes, these three Australian sisters are hitting the USA and they sound great. This video does not give their talent justice, they sounded better live. My opinion is they are the next Dixie Chicks.
Enjoy the McClymonts: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=t6azTRJI7c8 |
Well, they're certainly easy on the ears. Thanks for sharing!
I love me some Dixie Chicks, especially that bluegrass album they did. Anyone remember this scorcher? http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=eWFkSKl960Y |
Get this, at a district seminar for workers at Texas Department of Human Services back in the mid 1990's they had about 500 of us learn it and the fastest learners were pulled up front to perform in front of everyone. I was one of 5 pulled up front for this. Can no longer perform it due to fibromyalgia, Restless Leg Syndrome, arthritis and problems with my brain in keeping up any movements (such as singing or speaking or dancing) that are supposed to be faster than a certain rate.

So that's where our tax dollars are going!
Suddenly I feel the need to go to a major sporting event in the mid-'90s! :D |

This reminds me of the other day, at a family function, we put this kids dance Wii game on. All my 5 sisters, my mother and all the little kids were dancing to this song. They tame it down for kids. But it was still fun, especially with some liquid courage(for the adults). |
Sugarland - Stuck Like Glue - YouTube
The video doesn't quite do the words justice, but I love this song, reminds me of my Trucker! |
I finally get to hear Sugarland! The sounds go down real easy. Thanks for sharing!

Hey, I like that Dixie Chicks song quite a bit. I always knew I'd like a bluegrass song one day. :) I think I'll hear it again when I'm done posting this.
Ray Manzarek making his keyboards sound like falling rain and John Densmore doing what he always did, adding nuance and originality to every song. And then there's Morrison's vocals... Love him or hate him. One of Robbie Krieger's better songs too imho. Like one commenter said "Best song to listen to drunk". LOL http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=5qRJIBtbc2c&feature=related |

(swagger-stumble... stagger-stagger) Thanks Timberwolf! Yar if Shania were a baseball, I'd still hit her with me wood... har-Har (cof-cof)(flem) Here be something to perk up aboot 'n take notice... http://i97.photobucket.com/albums/l236/Leland10/04.gif http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=bwN-XDjGMlo |
Is dance music music? :P
Thanks, MichiganDriver, for posting that. It was a big favorite in my high school years, and it still holds up today. As far as I'm concerned, every day is a Doors day. |

They've done this song on SNL so I guess I'm the last person to hear it. Got the link from an economists blog. lol
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=rsr8oXxzFEI&feature=player_embedded Here's a link to the blog: Economics and Politics by Paul Krugman - The Conscience of a Liberal - NYTimes.com Not that I would stoop so low as to post a link to a liberal economists blog thinking you might learn what the adults think we should do about the mess this country is in. Nope, wouldn't do that, it's just that he posts music links now and then. :) (But having said that, his Sept 2, "Fatal Distraction" post is a good read) |
Trace/Kellie
Went to see Trace Adkins and Kellie Pickler in concert the other night. Man that dude is huge (and missing part of pinky finger) and Kellie is gorgeous....actually met her in person at the concert. They put on a great concert...Kellie needs to find her style ..but her early country sound (Tammy Wynette style) is great. I couldn't find a good video for her doing it........so your stuck with Trace..
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=lBDN8yWyNYU |
OK...its not the greatest video/sound quality.....but Ms. Kellie Pickler with "I want to be married but I want to be single too". I can appreciate that song....her concert version here was much better. She has that older (not old) country sound. Enjoy!

This is going to get me in trouble because,
I'm not suppose to post any video's of Shania anymore, as part of my restraining order. Annaways, I think Shania wrote this song aboot me, after I taught her how to bake 30 minute Brownies in 20 minutes. http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=RSiDMnzqUW4 |
