Come on people,
He was trying to get a cool picture with the pasture in the background:D:D. But seriously now, what really happened? And im glad nobody got hurt or killed. |
The driver is a photographer on the side. He wanted some nice scenery for his photo album.
How strange. It looks like he is on a country road, beside the highway. How did he end up way over there? It's like a mile across there. |
there was a swift daycab just east of the whitewater, ca rest area last night along eastbound i-10 that seemed to have rear ended a 4 wheeler. i had passed by the accident scene within the first 45 seconds after it happened. it was a pretty good wreck. another car was pretty busted up, too, and the people in it were pretty bloodied up. it was just at the start of the road work that had the right 3 lanes closed off.

Swift has an anual calender contest . .
. . looks like the August winner to me.
|
More fuel for the laughter fire as usual.
|
Ya'll know who that is don't ya? That's Kev heading to a delivery point. He didn't have to move the barrels and road closed signs this time though.
|
C'mon guys it's just a photo op for the new SWIFT calender.

You all missed what really happened. His GPS told him to turn there. After all, everyone knows how perfect they are.

Reason why i started to hate trucking is because of the comments like these above, about a driver who ran off the road and now is being made fun off..
Let me tell you something, to all of you rambo truck drivers out there. You are not untouchable and it can happen to you as well. I've seen guys with over 2 million miles wreck their rigs due to that same dose of overconfidence that all of you enjoy together, it seems... I bet you make fun of all of those student drivers when they are backing into a spot at a truck stop too...thats a way to go...Then people wonder why is our buisiness painted in such an ugly picture. It just might be that that picture is clear and true all the way around. SAD. |
:lol2:
You are totally missing it. Lighten up and laugh, it's good for ya you know? We make fun of them because it is usually something really stupid they did that we know better than to even attempt. We call it, common sense, some simply don't have it and unfortunately they are piloting an 80K pound missile. We are equal opportunity though, we pick on 4 wheelers also. |
This scene does not make me chuckle ,because if you happen to be in the opposing traffic lanes when this driver does this you can kiss your A-$$ good buy if you're in his path of travel .

Easy princess, don't get your panties in a bunch. |

Really? like what? is a heart attack common sense? you don't know what happened in this situation, he could have been avoiding an accident or anything, yes we understand that due to the sticker on the trailer, that may be a rookie that made a mistake, but you have no idea, therefore your reasoning is ignorant. |

whoa boys.. seems like we struck a cord wit someone..
|
no cord...no harm either, just hitting on what the other guy said, drivers hate on drivers 24/7 and wonder why our job sucks....can't remember the last time I saw drivers helping each other that were not trainer/trainee.
And hawk, outta all people to poke fun, bro you just made a thread about being scared/phisically unable to back your truck in at a pilot? |
What don't have a sense of humor outkast? You must not get any help when you need it, prolly because your all serious about everything and so everyone figure's you for a total pr!ck. Could be wrong but that's the vibe your putting out right now. Got to laugh at some stuff every now and then.
The truck is sitting in the middle of a field, forget the name on the side, that's interesting and worth tossing a funny/witty headline quote at to get a laugh. If all the original OP saw was a cop and a tow truck, then it was nothing serious. Nobody else was involved so why all the seriousness about how it could have killed someone and so it's not funny? Nothing else happened, if it did we wouldn't be joking about this, we'd be more serious about it. Again, some of you are simply missing "it" on this thread. |
Quote:
no I'm not serious, I have a great sence of humor, and yes, when I'm bothered by somthing a disrespectful poser says, im a *****. truth is you know NOTHING about this accident, what you see is the aftermath, and what you read was a drivers story the he made up by looking at the truck and driving by. Unless you called swift for details or witnessed this accident, you have no idea what happened. You don't know if there were any injuries, and you are sure are not learning anything here. look at the pic again, driver. How can you make an assumption of the cause and outcome of this accident by a photo that was taken out of the right window of the truck? Do you a see a smashed car behind it? No, the view is blocked. All you can see is a swift truck in a field. Some people should just think before you speak....:moon: |

Dude who gives a flying F*CK, we get it you're a swifty and your feelings got hurt, get over it because nobody here gives a sh*t.

We kind of had this go around about a fatal accident in Washington. Lots of "good" guesses, but really no hard facts. I understand your thoughts here. |

not that I expected anything better out of you but, I'm not nor ever have been a swifty, but I choose to be a lil more mature and not jump to conclusions as to why a swift truck ended up in a field. Just imagine if it was your dad or son and it was a massive heart attack that caused him to pass out and drive into a field...not so funny now is it? and to answer your question, apparently you give a f&*K or you would'nt have wasted all that important time in your life posting here... ;) |
Mr. Fredog.. When you snapped this photo was there helicopters, ambulances, fire trucks, and a 15 highway police at the scene??

The last time I saw a Swift truck cross the median and go off the road, it was because a 4-wheeler had a heart attack, crossed the median, and went nose-to-nose with the right front corner of the truck. With part of the car locking up his steer tire, he couldn't control it. It took him across the median and across the other lanes. That Swift driver also died. That was on I-70 in IN. Not his fault at all, and nothing done stupid. A 4-wheeler that died behind the wheel. It would have been about the same ending no matter who the company was. Swift, Werner, or an O/O. It's just too bad a 4-wheeler had to take a truck driver with him.
There are things that are done by new drivers, and there are new drivers that have not properly been trained. But, seasoned drivers find themselves in a serious bind at times also. Back in Oct of '97, I took out a Nissan because I had no other choice. No, I didn't go off the road. Had the car lodged under my front end, I would have had no control either. Water on the road, and no one else involved is another matter. |
actually, I was quite impressed that he went across 4 lanes of traffic, a deep median and between 2 trees and never hit anything and landed right side up. I imagine he was hurt because that had to be one hell of a bump crossing that median, it has a pretty deep dip to it
