Let us know what you're doing, and how things are going for you. I've had thoughts about Alaska different times, but never did anything about it.

Spoiler? You got it! The Rushville, Indiana Rocket...aka "Smoke" will be kissing the bricks (again!) at the start finish line. You heard it here first!

Smoke fan here too Belpre. And that other Indiana kid Ryan Newman! The best part is now they both run Chevrolets on the same team! Here's a pic of my truck.

I went to Chicagoland a couple years ago. Great track to watch a race. Gonna try and do Bristol next year for the night race.

Back to the original post topic.
My best memory of my father (he is still alive but this memory will last my life time) After he retired from the Army in 75 he made it a point to take each one of us kids on a two day ski trip. For two years in a row when my turn came around it just happened that we got major snow storms and the roads were real bad those two years we made it to the Georgetown, Colorado which is only about 20 minutes from our home and ended up turning around as the roads just sucked. The third year it did the same thing Snowing like a bitch. We got to Georgetown and yes the chain law was in effect and it was pretty much white out conditions AGAIN 3rd year in a row. I was 15 and ready to cry my eyes out as everytime Dad took my brothers they had great conditions. Dad looked at me and said lets keep going, it took us 4 and 1/2 hours to make Glenwood Springs, Colo, on a normal day it would have been 2 hours. it was about 9 pm and still snowing real hard when we checked into the hotel. Woke up the next morning to a beautiful Colorado sunny day and made the drive to Snowmass and skied a foot of fresh powder all day. We made the first tracks down the burn at Snowmass. Have to say that is one of the top 10 days of my life.....

My dad lives only 5 minutes from us and I talk to him daily when he is not on the golf course at 85 years old, he is my hero and a veteran of the South Pacific USN, South Korea Army, & South Vietnam Army
