This has been going on since man showed up on earth.
In many countries this kind of thing is a daily occurrence.

But since we are in a "let me tell you what you think mode" maybe it is just because it is hard to fathom someone just being a saddistic as the proposed subjects at hand.. You hear of it almost everyday, but sometimes it just hits close to home, and you can do nothing but think about it.. Usual response is Wow, how come..

History does tend to repeat itself. Mankind is very very sadistic by nature, sorry but it is true. Throughout most of history brutality has been the norm. Only recently has mankind really tamed itself. In our modern society brutality has been weeded out, but it is still a part of human nature.

Not that I condone these actions, but most people in today's society cannot fathom the things people sometimes do, but go back to the beginning of this county, look at the salem witch trials, hangings, etc. Look at how the romans used to be, heck even read the bible!

When the pressures of life get to be too much a lot of people revert to more animal instinct type behavior, they get into a survive or die type mindset. When you dig deep enough into that mindset, there are no rules. People will go and kill a bunch of other people, then when they realize they went too far, they cannot handle their own conscious or are too coward to face the consequence and kill themselves.

Normally I don't like to participate in religious debates, it always fosters arguments, and people believe in what they believe. But I feel an urge to dive into this one.

First I must state my personal beliefs before saying what I am going to say. I do believe in God, but I do not live according to christian standards. There was a time I considered myself a strong Christian, however there are too many things in life I enjoy that go against the Christian moral values. As far as my knowledge of the bible goes, I was a Christian Drug/Alcohol/Relationship Counselor for nearly 5 years, and during that 5 years I lived and worked in a mission, so I have studied the bible extensively.

Sync, sorry but if all you where doing was reading revelations then you weren't reading the proper parts of that book! To say Christianity is on a downward spiral in the country, in part yes, but not really. This country was founded on Christianity, and the majority of the population do consider themselves Christians, though I doubt very much that the majority of them really are, but that is a different topic.

Got Mud, if you want to hear God talking to you, you need to know where to listen. He doesn't broadcast through bushes any more, he talks to everyone in different ways. It may be the words spoken by someone, or by a bird flying through the air that sparks an idea in your head. Since Jesus died and rose again, it opened the door for the Spirit to live inside of us and talk to us directly. To dig any deeper into this would be a long theological lecture.

Also in the United States you will not see much of anything like the parting of the sea, mainly because of the lack of faith. Most miracles that one reads about in the bible such as people being healed instantly, happen more so in third world countries where there is no modern medicine, why? Because of the lack of modern medicine they MUST rely on faith for healing. In America we are used to modern medicine, if something happens to us we take a 15 min drive to a hospital, we have faith in the doctor, not in Jesus for our healing.

As far as the end of the world goes, the bible clearly states that no one will know the exact time and date when He will come back, only we will know it is soon by the signs of the times, but the actual end will come suddenly and swiftly when it is not expected! Sorry but it isn't going to happen in 2012, or 2019 which are the two main prophesied dates.

However I do believe we are in the 'end times'. What does that mean? Well it means it will occur VERY soon. But biblicaly very soon could be many years. All of the end time prophesies have been fullfilled or are occurring as we speak.

Matcat faith in a doctor? No, faith in the knowledge God gave him and that he is using it properly. Yes, history repeats itself when people fail to learn from past events.....they will repeat them.

People like me? I would love to know what that means. I am not so dumb to not realize that there have been *****holes since the beginning of time. When I was younger if you were bad you got punished. My biggest influence growing up was knowing the if I F***ed that there were going to be repercussions from my parents. Usually a wooden spoon across the *****, and if my mom broke her spoon you were really in trouble!!! But now you cant discipline your own kids. Spare the rod and spoil the child.
