I didn't know we were supposed to be complaining about posters. I always thought getting up front with them was what we were supposed to do...make them show their true selves....so to speak.

Sorta like I enjoyed doing with CFM. Nothing personal against the guy...but for all his yapping...he never puts out exactly where he works.

Now...as far as the Hogster....If he comes back as an admin...moder...or just a regular poster...fine by me...I liked a lot of the interesting thinks he threw out here.

Job-wise...He is in the same boat as the rest of us. Time will tell.

There is nothing wrong with having a lively discussion or debate. It becomes a problem when people start calling others names and it gets to the point of personal attacks. We have had many good debates and except for a few it hasn't resulted in the personal attacks and name calling. When a discussion gets to that point it drives members away and takes much of the fun away from being here.

As far as Roadhog is concerned, it was his decision to leave and it will need to be his decision whether to come back. From his post it seems that he would rather not come back to the forum.

Well I miss RoadHog, and a few other posters. But I still keep in touch with them Via Email.

As for this site it seem like a bunch of new people, and that brings change. But it also brings back discussion.
Thing is it seems that my 4 years of being here, it seems like almost all category's of discussion have been discussed.

As for Locking threads, I really don't think it is fair to say that the Rev has locked more than the previous admin and mods. In my 4 years I have seen a many threads locked including my own.

As for seeing the way the Rev moderates this board, well I haven't been back long enough to make that conclusion or opinion. Personally I have never had a problem with Rev, but then again I get along with just about anyone, except myself.

I would love to see Hog come back, but I know Hog and if he did it would be after he cooled off. He is a forgiving man and a good man, but like anyone else it will take time. and even then He will have to ask himself if it would bring him happiness or would it be just something else to carry on his shoulders.

Most certainly, they DID, Bel. Sheepdancer was a cornucopia (sp) of knowledge and advice for new drivers starting out, without regard for their field of specialization. Batman, when he wasn't ragging on me, or talking politics, did the same. BOTH of them did so without malice or prejudice.

I don't recall either of them ragging on Mackman for driving a dump, which I believe only requires a class B, or anyone who might be hauling passengers instead of freight. In fact, I don't recall ANYONE on this board ever disparaging another driver/poster here for the "class" of their license....except YOU.

I guess that "need" for a feeling of superiority is an "Indiana thing." Or, maybe just a "local Wuss" thing. It certainly is NOT part of the character I've noticed from other Tanker Yankers on this board. Or any OTHER "class A" driver... for that matter.

Just sayin'

Marcel: The word "coolie" was once used to refer to Chinese slave laborors mostly used to build the railroads across America. They often came here under a contract of indenture. They were promised much more than was delivered, and they were paid a pittance for their hard labor and long hours.

There are SOME here who believe that this term applies to the newbie drivers that start out in this career with the Mega Carriers (also known as "coolie carriers."

The term was more or less "banned" under the old administration of this board under a mistaken belief that it was racial, prejudicial or bigoted. Luckily, the new (more conservative) administration, has deemed it once again to be acceptable language, and the "nasty word filter" hasn't been instructed to filter it out.

In its current incarnation, it applies to OTR drivers who, although making more money per week than ever in their lives, are "forced" to sleep in their trucks, see the country for free, and occaisionally sit at a shipper waiting to get loaded. As far as we know, it is only used by the mathematically challenged, anal retentive, local wusses who think they should be PAID for every minute of their day.... whether sleeping, showering or taking a dump! Since we ALL do these things every day anyways, I believe the critical differentiation is whether you do it in the same boring slum dwelling you grew up in.... as opposed to doing it in an exciting part of the country you've never seen!

But, as they will be the first to "insinuate," it is really all up to you. But, their opinion of you and their characterization of your intelligence weighs in the balance of your decision.

Instructions from fellow board members solicited:

What is the best method with which to land a Boeing 747 (Jumbo) during a 50MPH crosswind and torrential rainfall?

That was more or less my point, Mackman. Obviously, you HAVE a class "A".... or Belpre wouldn't have let you join us here! But, at times, we don't always USE what we have. My occaisional kidding of you aside (concerning dumping not really being truck driving) neither I, nor even the worst on this board, have ever given you any grief over what you chose to do. But then, I suspect that MIGHT be because you are a MAN.

On a side note.... I've read a few of your posts lately. Times are hard. I hope you are doing okay! Sorry about the "birds" tonight! I was rooting for them, as I am for YOU!
